SOUTHERN OKLAHOMA SPEEDWAY TARGETED FOR ACTION

Tulsa Oklahoma (June 25, 2012)
– Last year at this time, the Southern Oklahoma
Speedway (formerly Lake Country Speedway) went
through a promoter change. John and Nicky Webb
became the regions newest track promoters and one of
their very first moves was booking the Tulsa
Oklahoma based Oil Capital Racing Series sprint
cars. OCRS responded with a bevy of open wheel
warriors with the Moore’s Whit “Gasman” Gastineau,
out dueling the former three time OCRS sprint
champion, Jammin Jamie Passmore and eventual 2012
champion, Sean McClelland for the victory.
Forward a full year since and the Webb’s bring back
the OCRS warriors this Saturday night to the
Southern Oklahoma Speedway for the first of two tour
stops at SOS in 2012. OCRS teams will find changes
in the track since their visit last year. The front
and back straights have been reworked and the
embankments in the turns have been regraded. Race
fans that will be making their first visit to SOS in
2012 will find that remodeled restrooms and
concessions await them. The Webb’ s have been
working hard at providing SOS with a facility all
parties will come to enjoy.
As for the action coming to town, race fans will
witness a throng of sprint teams that will provide
some of the best entertainment found to date.
Gastineau is coming off a thrilling duel in Missouri
with Sapulpa’s Danny Smith that had fans at the edge
of their seats witnessing the two gunslingers go at
it back and forth. The Gasman would prevail for his
second win of 2012. Point leader Passmore will
arrive with five main event triumphs yet he has a
small 43 point lead (765-722) over Smith in the 2012
chase for the “Goodyear Tire and Rubber OCRS
Championship”.OCRS has been informed that the famed “Hog
Wagon” with Oklahoma City sprint ace Joe Wood Jr at
the wheel, will make an appearance as well. Many
OCRS fan followers will recollect Wood’s 20th
to 2nd charge in the season opener at the
Brill Motor Speedway.
