This is the same post that I had posted, when I went to do a edit I deleted it by accident.

After a long day in Charlotte, sitting in mediation on Monday, Both Jason Sides and WRG came to an agreement. The lawsuit has been settled and it's time to move on. Jason is pleased and satisfied with the outcome. Jason and the 7s team is looking forward to putting this behind them and ready to focus on racing now. Good things are ahead for the 7s team. Jason wants to thank all his family, friends, and supporters throughout this ordeal. Now let's go racing!

This is all that will be posted about this issue, the Sides Motorsports Team is moving forward and hope to see you soon at a race track, stop by and see us! Once again Thanks for the support!

Jason is a class guy and I'm glad that he is satisfied with the settlement.

It will be interesting to learn the details.

Why?

Because I believe the WRG lost their case!

Or maybe BOTH side admitted they were wrong. Either way it is between Sides and WRG and really none of our concern what was agreed to........

Thank You D1RT,

My exact sentiments! Right or wrong or just plain indifference - at least the traveling show will hopefully have another fulltime, quality racer to add to the mix.

In most cases like this, both sides agree to confidentiality, so you'll never know.

Didn't the race Jason ran "without consent" in Fargo? Kind of ironic how this gets sloved the week before the Outlaws return to Fargo isn't it?

Not any of our concern what they agreed to? Seems it is, based on the number of posts on this very subject. If you don't think it is any of your business, go to a basket weaving forum. I am interested in how this all went down. That is why i came to a sprint car forum. Because, this is related to sprint car racing. If you don't think it is, don't read the details of this topic. Read about the post i started (sarcastically) about who makes the best frozen pizza.

The way I look at this whole mess is this:

While Sides was guilty of breaking his contract, the punishment was way too severe. Perhaps points should have been deducted, or tow money been withheld for a few races, but stripping him of $40k is too much.

No matter what the agreement was, this is a win win for both parties. Sides probably gets some money back and the WoO hopefully gets another full-timer back next year if Jason decided to race for points again. Lets face it, the WoO is really hurting for full-time drivers considering they lost Jason Meyers and Paul McMahon this year, several veterns like Haudenschild the year before, and add to the fact Kinser and Swindell won't be around forever. This year they are down to 11 drivers and a few of them are probably barely hanging on financially. If field of full-time drivers continues to get lower, then what track is going to pay more than $30k to sanction a WoO event if there are only 7 or 8 full time drivers when you can get the All Stars for less than that, or have a weekly title locally like PA, Knoxville, IRA, and Attica/Fremont does. JMO.

100% agreement with everything you said. That has been my stance all along.
