NCRA Modifieds at 81 Speedway for Father's Day This Sunday Night!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas – June 11, 2012 – Three events have been completed on the 2012 National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products modified division and a familiar face sits atop the current point standings as the tour heads to 81 Speedway in Park City for the tracks "Hoosier Daddy" Father's Day racing spectacular this Sunday night, June 17th.
The series 360 sprint car and a special, non-sanctioned $1000 to win late model show are will also be in competition. NCRA modified rules only apply for this event that pays $1000 to win.
Former five-time series champion Brian Franz is back atop the point standings and comes into the Sunday night special event with a 25 point lead over former series champion Marc Hurd. Jim Johnson sits 30 points out of the lead in third while Tyler Davis (35 points out) and Don Hodge (90 points) round out the top five in the standings.
Davis already has picked up one feature victory on the season, this coming over Memorial Day weekend at Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kansas. Johnny Bone, Jr. and Jason McGehee have also picked up victories thus far this season.
Leading series rookie contender Mickey Lassiter sits sixth in the point standings, followed by Kirk Coleman, Josh Lanterman, and rookie contenders A.J. Brochu and Dustin Belcher.
Other tour regulars expected to compete include Dan Powers, Kirby Robe, rookie contender Jon Thompson, Justin Moler, Robbie Simmons, Tanner Mullens, Rosh Shipman, McGehee, Kevin Newell and Richie Hobbs. Over thirty drivers are expected to compete.
Gates will open at 4:00 pm with a special race start time of 6:00 pm. General admission tickets are $15 for adults ages eleven and up, $5.00 for children 6-10.
