Coming this weekend on June 16th, 2012 is the Oil Capital Racing Series (OCRS) Sprint Cars, presented by Smith Auto Group and Chevrolet Performance. Not only will the 'boys' be bringing the wide open, all out winged sprint cars to the legendary high banks of Tri-State Speedway, but there will also be two 'girls' in the mix.
Planning on attending the event, at this time, is 17 year old Harli White, who until recently has been racing micro sprints. Harli has an incredible story that goes along with her driving expertise. Please check out these links for more information: http://www.HarliWhiteRacing.com and http://youtu.be/D_LHNnIAg-U. Unfortunately, the hero in this story lost his life early this spring at the hands of a family member. (If you need more information about Donnie, who was also a sprint car driver, please see this link: http://www.NewsOn6.com/story/16520507/emergency-crews-respond-to-wagoner-county-shooting.)
The other lady that is scheduled to attend is 19 year old Shayla Waddell. Shayla has been racing since she was 7 years old and is the first female to win an OCRS "A" Feature, which was accomplished a few weeks ago in Salina, Oklahoma. For more information on Shayla please visit: http://newsok.com/shayla-waddell-still-chasing-her-racing-dream/article/3667829.
For more information on both drivers and the Oil Capital Racing Series please visit: http://www.OCRSRacing.com/.
Many of the OCRS sprint cars will be on display at Smith Chevrolet & Cadillac on Saturday, June 16th during the afternoon. Also, both "lady" drivers will be available for autographs during intermission. Tri-State Speedway will also be hosting week 12 of the regular points season for all regular classes. Scheduled start time is 7 PM. Adult grandstand admission is just $12 and kids 6-12 are only $2. For more information, please visit us on our web site at: http://www.Tri-StateSpeedway.com or find us on Face Book at: http://www.FaceBook.com/TriStateSpeedway.
