A friend told me Calistoga will have a sprint car race Oct.27th. He also said that he was told the Purse will be $75,000, $25,000 to the winner. I did look at the speedway schedule and it is listed. 75th Anniversary Calistoga Speedway Open 360 sprint car race. However there is nothing about purse size or if it is wing or nonwing.. Just wondering has anyone heard or know anything about this race..

Interesting. Nope - this is the first time. The WoO is rescheduled for 9/9 and I didn't know about that either. One more reason to go this weekend I guess :-)........

Not a bad weekend to choose. Hopefully a lot cars from Trophy Cup will stick around and come to Calistoga.

It's written on the main page of their website that the race will feature a $75,000 purse...

To bad they can't move it up to Friday the 6th or Sunday Oct. 7th. Less chance of rain. If the weather is good this will be a fun race with a lot of cars with a purse of $75k

75th Anniversary of Calistoga Speedway and the Golden Gate Bridge. 1937 was a good year for building iconic Northern California landmarks.

This is also the same weekend as the USAC national series is to be at canyon speedway for 2 days and the oval nationals at PERRIS the next weekend for 2 days. So I would think this would be a winged 360 race . So the COTTON classic , then the TROPHY CUP for 3 days , then canyon for 2 days , then PERRIS for 2 days . Otherwise I would try to make this show .
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.
