81 Speedway/Humboldt Speedway This Weekend for NCRA Modifieds!

NCRA or USRA Rules Apply for Both Races

FOR IMMEDIATE Release – Park City, Kansas – May 20, 2012 – A Memorial weekend double-header await the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products modified division this coming Saturday and Sunday night, May 26-27, with stops at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas and Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kansas respectively with this event part of the tracks 5th annual Dwaine Whitworth Memorial.

Both of these shows, which pay $1000 to win, will see drivers allowed to compete using current NCRA or USRA rules but no mixing or matching of those rules.

A last minute schedule change will now see the modified division back to 81 Speedway on Saturday night for their second appearance of the season. Jason McGehee picked up his first career series victory in the season opener but it is chassis builder Bobby Bills who is the tours current points leader heading into the Holiday weekend. Bills used the "alphabet soup" to earn enough points out of competing in the "C," "B," and "A" features to claim that position.

Sitting just five points out of the lead are a trio of drivers, including McGehee, Kenny Sweet and former five-time champion Brian Franz.

A.J. Brochu and Jim Johnson sit tied for fifth in the point standings while Don Hodge, Mickey Lassiter, former series champion Marc Hurd, Brian Miller, Jason Roe and Ross Shipman round out the top twelve.

Tour regulars who had a rough season opener and are expected to compete both nights include Brian Powers, Kirk Coleman, Ryan McAninch, Tyler Davis, Josh Lanterman, Jon Thompson, Derek Johnson and Dustin Belcher.

Coupled with track regulars from Humboldt Speedway as well as drivers from throughout Oklahoma and Kansas, both events could easily car counts 40 plus.

Humboldt Speedway track regular Justin Folk took the lead late to win last year's event where a field of 45 cars were on hand.

Saturday night gates at 81 Speedway open at 5:00 pm and racing starts at 7:00 pm. General admission prices are $10, $5 for children while pit passes are $20. The track is located north of Wichita on I-135 to exit 16, then .7 mile west on 77th St. in Park City. For more race and ticket information contact the 81 Speedway office (316) 755-1781.
