Stars of the ASCS headed to I-80 Speedway
The Stars of the ASCS National Sprint Car Series are headed to I-80 Speedway on Thursday, May 24 for the I-80 Sprint Car Nationals. Race time will be 7:15 pm. Many of the best 360 Sprint Car drivers in the country will be on hand. Last weekend's ASCS events were rained out at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Currently the top five in the ASCS National point race are; Wayne Johnson of Oklahoma City with 1,217 points, Two-time series champion Jason Johnson of Eunice, Louisiana 1,187 points, Brady Bacon of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 1,157 points, Johnny Herrera of Albuquerque, New Mexico 1,060 points and Four-time Series Champion Gary Wright of Hooks, Texas 1,039 points.
Sixth through tenth in points are; Brad Loyet, Tony Bruce, Jr., Danny Wood, Seth Bergman and Dustin Morgan.
Several of these drivers have wins at I-80 Speedway. Jason Johnson picked up his 100th ASCS career win last September at I-80. Seth Bergman won the ASCS season opener at I-80 in April, 2011, Dustin Morgan got his I-80 win in April 2010 and Jack Dover has a pair of ASCS wins at I-80 one in 2007 and the other in 2010. Robbie Wolfgang and Brian Brown picked up ASCS wins this April at I-80 during the Spring Meltdown.
