Officials Working On Replacement Date

Tulsa Oklahoma
(May 15, 2012) – Series officials
from Speedways Inc. along with the Oil Capital Racing Series, have announced
that the OCRS event scheduled for Sunday May 27th at the Enid
Speedway in Enid Oklahoma is being postponed at this time. There is a need for
additional equipment and supplies for the racetrack before the OCRS sprint cars
can take to the speedway. Speedways Inc; the tracks promoter, is currently working
with the Garfield County officials to have the issues resolved. Officials from
each office are working to find a suitable replacement date.
OCRS
sprint cars will still be in action over the Memorial Holiday Weekend as the
Thunderbird Speedway in Muskogee Oklahoma will start a doubleheader event on
Friday night, May 25th with the Caney Valley Speedway in Caney
Kansas hosting the tail end of the weekend bookend the following night.

The usual Garfield county B S holding up the show. A year later and they are still working on repairs, I call BULLSH*T. They don't seem to want the speedway to make it. That is very sad for us lifetime Enid fans and racers.

I was looking forward to this show. If the county would put money into the effort it would then, make money for them. I don't know what goes on up there but it does seem that sometimes people say, well the track needs $6,000 for repairs, we can't afford that so we will just cancel the races, but if they just bite the bullet and do the repair, it would come back to them in ticket revenue, concessions, etc... if well promoted.

Saw a couple of weeks ago on a FB post of a racer out of Enid and a contract had been given to an electrical company to put up lights. What has happened since then i have no clue.
