Just curious, how is the 410 feature line up determined at weekly Knoxville shows? I saw this past week that Wayne Johnson finished 13th in time trials, 1st in his heat and started on the front row for the feature but for example Dusty Zomer finished 14th in time trials, won his heat but started 13th in the A main.

They line up using the invert... Quick timer Heskin drew a 12...the reason why wayne started on the pole by qualifying 13th was because A.J. Moeller, who timed in before wayne, did not qualify for the A from his heat bumping wayne up into the invert. Something not many have noticed was that had Wolfgang stayed out in his heat and won, it would have bumped Austin Johnson to the B, therefore would have put zomer and wayne on the front row. Kind of ironic considering with robby dropping out, it gave dusty the win of the heat, but kept him from making the invert so he had to start 13.

The invert was 12. If someone in the top 12 in qualifying doesn't qualify for the feature through their heat race (which shouldn't be too hard since they only inverted 6 in the heats and take 6 to the feature), they don't get their time spot back in the feature. Due to that, 13th quick gets bumped to 12th. AJ Moeller was 6th quick, but finished 9th in his heat. That bumped Wayne to 12th quick, or pole. If someone else in the top 12 had not qualified through their heat, Zomer would've been on the pole, with Wayne outside row 1, etc, etc, etc.

So what would have happened if Cody Darrah would have made the A-main, but qualified only 7th quick, would you have insulted him for not having quick time or would you have said he was sandbagging in time trials to try to hit the correct invert pill?

There's the magic wotk sandbagging. Don't pay to have quick time better to have 6th. Best quick time can start is 6th the worst is 12th. That's why I say run on points top in driver points starts 20th then the 4 from the b- main start 21-24. That stops sandbaging.

0.34 seconds between fast time and 6th and 0.105 between 6th and 12th. Have to be pretty good to sandbag and land between 6th & 12th. Plus they award points for time trials. If you are running for points those can be important at the end of the season.

Im not a bit surprised that you cant "see" what he has to do with it. The swelling from your eyes from his fist probably still hasnt gone down, Kole.

I agree with zerorules opinion. Start them by points. That's how they did it at the Jackson MN Speedway in the 1960's and it provided for the most exciting weekly racing I have seen anywhere. There was passing right from the get go.

I dont think "sandbagging" happens in knoxville...atleast not for the guys that run for weekly points...if you dont qualify in the top 5 you dont get any bonus points....and let me tell you...those qualifying points is what led lasoski to the championship lastyear...those bonus points is what prevents sandbagging...and if you are telling me that when i quick timer draws a 12 invert, that doesnt create come exciting racing? maybe not last week cause the track was just hammerdown and ride the top, but when the bottom and top is at knoxville that race would have been 10 times better...
