Merced was a 1/4 mile now its is 1/3 mile after they redid it :bdf: :bdf: :cheers2:

i doubt merced was really a quarter mile and i would be pretty sure it is not a third mile now. tulare and hanford are closer to third miles.

to indy and beyond!!

old Merced speedway was the "track and field" site for Merced High. fines were levied for spinning tires on the grass infield and the race track was graded and smoothed for track and field events "back in the day" so is a 1/4 mile track around the inside middle or outside is there a 1/4 mile in Cali and where does it measure 1/4 , 10's is haulen and if 3-4 were as good as 1-2 it woulda been mid 10's

i was not holding you responsible as the official track measurer, just making a comment based on observation. no need to get twisted.

and nothing against gibby but he can only go by the info he is given. which is highly dubious.

if that track is an honest third mile then i am a freakin genius..............and we all know how slim the chance of that is.

No matter what size it is it sure looked like in the highlites that it was black & 1 groove. Shitty way to provide high dollar entertainment to the fans. Typical Circus Shit!!

That place is a solid 1/4 now by racing standards in my eyes, regardless of the actual measurements. We all know how the "It's a 1/4 mile, it's a 1/2 mile" thing goes in the racing world, it all depends on who you ask. It looked to me to be just about the same size as Ocean, maybe with a shorter back chute.
