360 Winged Racer - Eagle Chassis..88.40..Inquiring about Setups..Shocks, Bars, Etc. Seems once we get going feature time, & gets slick..cannot get the car locked down..3 laps in..cars already loose..Wondering if anyone out there could give me some tips with a good shock package/bar setup..turns..etc..to keep car tight and stay tight most of the race so were not "out to lunch" so early on..Any help would be huge..thanks...

You should also have all your tools and spare parts organized and laying out. That would probably really help you get to the next race. LOL

In order for someone to succesfully help, you must first provide a lot more information.

  • What size track; how is it shaped?
  • Does the track typically develop a top and or bottom, or perhaps both?
  • What is your current baseline setup and what type of adjustments are you making when the track slows down?
  • What wheel offsets are you running? What is your tire rule?
  • The people who are prepared to help you must also assume that you have good bars and good shocks. They must assume that your car is squared up properly and that your ball is free. It's very, very difficult to give good advice via the message board, especially with little information.
  • If your hoping for a "silver spoon" setup, your probably not going to get one. Start by offering some additional information.

If u ask how to set up your car on hoseheads. You are not going to run that set up successfully. Also who said he was on a 1/2 mile track? Cause if his car doesn't get down on a 1/2 mile with a wing you got bigger problems. So the question is What track do u run at "against the world". That's if u want to help him and not run him straight into the fence.

I would be cranking turns in the front bars, not out of them, and running an easy up shock on the left front, like a 5-3 or 5-2,just my opinion.

Yes I do. I went to a race one time and learned everything. I'm also the master at the World of Outlaw Play Station game. I've won that one place knoxville like 20 times, the track Kasey Kahne owns. What is that Eldora? I even won I-55 from the back and my controller was messing up.

If you tell me your loose I'm going to loosen you up more: Bob Trostle

Make sure your not shaking it loose to get in, it's even easier to do on a dry track. Break the corner into three segments then analyze what's going on in each. How about your tires are they good? Fresh tires can make a world of difference.

I'm not trying to steal your "speed secrets" Just some insight from people that have actually have turned wrenches or have drove before.

3/8th mi 4/10th mi Semi Banked - Banked Tracks Top, Bottom Grooves.

Thinking tie downs all the way around or we better off going to pony up about 1400 for some gas shocks..Seems these shocks might just be the reason..

1025 bars Straight off the blocks.

thanks

Where are you racing? I`d bet that there a retired/former racer in the area that may be willing to help. Buy em a pit pass and put some money in his pocket. It will be the best money you ever spent.

Dumb Question, but have you tried calling Eagle? I know when I was racing karts the manufacturers were always helpful with setups.
