Does anyone know if Brandon still has the #1K Shammi Kumar ride in NorCal? The team destroyed their car at the 2nd Calistoga race and Brandon hasn't raced the #1K since. I see below he has a ride with Roth Motorsports for the Skagit Dirt Cup. He has been tearing up the 360 Civil War series and had some good runs in GSC and local 360 races. Hope to see him racing weekly again soon as he is a treat to watch.

Brandon Wimmer Joins Roth Motorsports

FRESNO, CA (June 10) – Brandon Wimmer has been rapidly making a name for himself in recent months, winning Golden State Challenge King of California Series and California Civil War Series races. Now he has the opportunity to race for a big-time car owner.

Dennis Roth, who has owned cars racing in California for many years and with the World of Outlaws since 1997, has hired Wimmer to drive his #83jr car.

“I can’t tell you how happy I am to drive for Roth Motorsports,” Wimmer said Sunday. “He’s had so many great drivers in his cars, and it’s a great team. I’ve really wanted to join a good team and get back out on the road.”

Wimmer made history in April when he became the first driver in 20 years to win California Civil War Series, Golden State Challenge King of California Series and weekly point races at Placerville Speedway in the same season.

“I think this is a good opportunity for him, and it gives us a chance to give a young guy a chance to see how he can do with our car against some of the better drivers on the West Coast,” said Roth, who also owns the #83 driven by Danny Lasoski with the World of Outlaws. “I think Brandon has really good potential. We’ve been watching him the last few weeks when he’s raced at Placerville and a few other places in northern California. I think this is a good chance for him to get into a car that might have a little better finish, and give him the opportunity to get out there and race with some of the better cars.”

Wimmer will make his Roth Motorsports debut in Monday’s Golden State Challenge King of California Series race at Southern Oregon Speedway, then race in the prestigious Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

“We’re just going to play it by ear after these races and see how things go,” Roth said. “If everything goes well, we will extend it on for a little bit.”

Roth Motorsports’ #83jr sprinter has only been driven once previously this year. Pavement racer Coby Swanson raced the car for several laps on dirt recently.
