it is just that, media hype, but it has you all twisted up.

in the big scheme of things it really doesn't matter.

I saw the video, and I still don't think it was Ricky that slapped Sammy's wing... For whatever reasons, the truth is Ricky has already done more in NASCAR than both Swindells put together.

I saw the video too, and I saw Ricky hit the wing and when he seen his old man getting beat up he came back into the picture but never did anything. Already done more_ yea he crashes good.

I was thinking the same thing. It was really too scary to make too much fun of it though. As bad and a weird as that deal was when you think about it the whole thing went about as good as something like that could. 3 more feet either direction could have made a lot of difference in that deal either good or worse.

hey, i understand why he doesn't think much of her. i understand he feels she doesn't deserve the media hype, or he thinks she shouldn't be getting the "star" treatment.

she didn't do much better or worse in indy car than any of the other mediocre drivers in that series.

i have no problem with people thinking danica shouldn't be getting the attention she is.

BUT in my opinion there is no reason for people to go searching for reasons to slam her or to slam her for things that are not her fault or she had no control over.

after she has run the nationwide season and if she hasn't shown she can adapt to the cars and hasn't shown improvement and potential, then she can be judged on her performance.

this past week she has been judged by her detractors on the poor performance of others that put her in some bad situations with resulting bad outcomes.

she was not the only one who had a bad speed week because of the actions of others.

the media is going to pump her and give her attention and make her the prize pig. so what. if you form you opinions and biases of her off of what the media says, you are making your first mistake. if you expect her to live up to or fall short of what the media says, then you deserve to be twisted.

to hope that danica fails and doesn't do well in nascar just because she happens to be getting a bunch of attention is kind of ridiculous. we have a few people around here who don't like the idea that kyle larson is getting so much attention and further opportunities, and they seem to enjoy it when he doesn't do well. it is kind of the same thing and there is really no reason for it.

I'm not going comment on her again until later in the season as I feel I have sufficiently made my point. We will let the season progress 'til near the end and reconvene. I think you know which side I'm placing my bets on. You care to make any wagers there old man :-)?

Oddly enough I won't be at the Mini Gold Cup. The WoO has priced me out even there. Tulare is too far. 'Stoga will likely be my season debut since they let me run the scoreboard there and I love being there races or no. Not sure how much of a runt I am - turned 41 this past January. There is life after 40 so far but you already knew that :-).

i don't know if stoga will end up on my event list, but if it does, i'll look forward to seeing you.
