60 percent increase in parking . It now costs 8 dollars to park .
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

Regular folk get hit with a 20% increase in prices.

Seniors on a fixed income get hit with a 33% increase.

And now my car, the same car that I parked last year gets hit with a 60% increase.

All this on top of the higher price for gas.

Ouch!

they should have cut the drivers purse, instead of raising the prices

Cut the driver's purse? Then they get less money, and soon there becomes less cars... $8 to park is ridiculous.... $25 for a regular show is pretty high as well.... Been to PAS a few times, really nice facility... But that price is a bit high.... Hope they don't lose many from the crowds because of the price increase, but it could happen... Makes me glad to be in AZ where I can see alot more sprint shows for $15 and $13 for us that fit in the senior bracket....

Perris has always been on the highside concerning ticket prices, parking and concessions.

This year, Perris has become too expensive for me.

Looks like Ventura and Tulare will get the bulk of my business with Santa Maria and Bakersfield feeling in some gaps. Ventura is not perfect, but for $14 the racing is pretty good for the sprint cars. And at Tulare, a KWS (410 wing) and USAC 360 race is a bargain at $17 especially when you consider parking is free. Hell the WOO at tulare are only $35 compared to $32 ($25 + $8) for a weekly/monthly CRA show at PAS. Do you think Perris/CRA even pays a comparable purse compared to a WOO purse at Tulare. And I didn't even mention concessions yet.

If Perris had 40-50 plus cars like they did during the heyday of SCRA at Perris, I might consider splurging and going to Perris, but those days are long gone. The PAS recipe for low attendance is to increase ticket prices and parking is not what I would suggest in this economy. I hope they survive.

I really enjoyed going to Perris as the racing is always good. But I can no longer justify the costs to attend a race there when you factor in cost for gas, ticket prices, parking, and concessions (easily over $130 for 2 people) for a weekly show when I can do Ventura for half that (or less).

PAS has to do what's best for them. But for me, that means probably the only time I will go to the PAS will be the Oval Nationals.

Looks to me like more Fair Board GREED! I don't think a dime goes into the racers! It's strange that I don't see attendents collecting $8.00 from the people parking in the hores racing joint. These people have money to throw away.

Perris has themselfs betwwen a rock and a hard place, and it seems the fairboard doesn't give a hoot if they get crushed or not, in fact they seem bent on making it worse.

Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

It appears that the fair board has an agreement with a new group to manage the parking and we are paying for it.

Alright here goes...I live in the high desert. My car carries three non-smoking passengers. Perhaps some sort of car pooling arrangements could be made.

37 Cars-pretty damn good, I stand corrected, maybe the old days of SCRA might be right around the corner Smile.

Looks like Perris is off to a good start and someone mentioned a crowd of 2,500, assuming that is good number too.

But it still doesn't change for me, the costs don't justify me attending many races at the PAS this year. But for those that can, it looks like a pretty good year with car counts Smile

The PAS operates like the Democratic Party... Tax, Tax, and Tax, until the rise in prices suffocates growth, and then when revenues start to drop, they Tax, Tax, and Tax some more...

Reduced prices, easier access, and attendance incentives seem like a better alternative...

'Case in Point', read JDFAST's post, "This year, Perris has become too expensive for me"...

Between the ticket price increase and parking price increase, it works out to just a little over $80 for the year for me. I see families being priced out. Oh yeah, they would like for me to attend the WoO show in addition to what I am already spending.

I won't be going to any races at the PAS this year it would cost me $120 minimum. I will go to Barona a few times to watch $10 to get in free parking and I can bring my cooler in the stands. It may not be sprint cars but it's better than sitting at home.

No racetrack in California charges for parking. Only fairgrounds do. Blame them not the tracks.

The PAS has nothing to do with what the fair board charges for parking nor do they profit from it. All you naysayers bitching about how much it costs to attend a race at the PAS think about this-What would you do if the Perris was gone? Irwindale/Victorville/Orange Show all gone. It stings pretty hard when you figure gas/ticket prices/parking/concessions etc. to attend a race there but we almost always without fail see a great show at one of the best dirt tracks in the country. I'm pretty sure Donnie K. isn't getting rich. Me, I'll go out to dinner less and cut down on some other things I do in order make sure I can attend every race possible at the PAS and support them. I remember when Ascot went away and there was nowhere else the see real Sprint Cars (410 non wing) and it sucked. We should be figuring ways to support the PAS instead of bitching about it............

Eight Bucks? Get serious. It cost me $240.00 to fly outta Portland to attend "THE BEST SPRINT CAR RACING in THE NATION! I would pay $10.00 bucks to park or whatever! Are they gouging us, of course.... It's $30.00 to park at a Seahawks or Mariner game, it's $15.00 to park at a Trailblazers game, It's $15.00 for college football games. You guys have no clue how lucky you are to be able to attend/watch these races in your back yard. I attend several events a year down there including the Ovals, by gosh, $8.00won't stop us. I like the guys idea of meeting at Home Depot parking lot and car pooling in, great way to get tied up with friends. Get creative and keep GREAT SPRINT CAR RACING GOING! We could be so lucky up here as to have your venues.....

As fans, the reason we complain about paying to park at a sprint car race is based on the fact we are accustomed to free parking for our beloved sport. Things change and we have to adapt. Dont have to like it, but we just have to adapt.

I can ask those to consider Ascot and Manzanita and ask..... would you pay to park today to bring them back? Most would including myself. That said, I do understand the issue of $33 for a single person to attend is tough. I suspect as the season unfolds, there will be a few who dont go because of that. Where I am, we have lost the Tulsa Speedway and the State Fair Speedway in Oklahoma City. I'd pay to park to have them back.

I recall a young, naive youngster from Oklahoma going to his first So-Cal pro baseball game. When I got there (Anaheim Stadium), I found it was $5 to park! I about threw a fit! Surely they were trying to rob me blind or think I was a sucker that would just pay. To avoid that, many of us parked 6-8 blocks away and walked to the stadium. Boy I sure showed them. Try to get my $5 will they? Sheesh! The kicker...............

It was 1981!

Wonder what it is today?
