Sherman Snares ASCS Canyon Gold at USA Race Park

TUCSON, Ariz. (June 9, 2007) – Jeremy Sherman continued his march towards the inaugural American Sprint Car Series Canyon Region title by completing a sweep of Saturday night's event at United Sports Arizona Race Park with a wire-to-wire drive in the 25-lap main event.
After winning his heat race and then charging from seventh to win the Pole Dash, Sherman led throughout to post his sixth triumph in seven events aboard Fred Bryan's F&E Development/Impact Racing No. 77 Maxim.
Sherman flashed underneath the checkered flag nearly a straightaway ahead of Charles Davis, Jr., who charged to second after starting ninth in a feature marked with several yellow and red flag periods.
Mike Leslie snared the show position, with 10th-starter Justin Fisher and Mike Martin rounding out the top five. Andrew Reinbold, Ronnie Clark, Josh Pelkey, 18th-starter Shon Deskins and Michael Colegrove completed the top ten.
Bernie Smith, Sherman and Bob Ream, Jr., topped heat race action. Ream scratched from the feature after flipping in the Pole Dash.
