I have an Open Wheel magazine collection from #1 to the end with just 3 or 4 missing in the middle. I also have every Sprint & Midget up until about a year ago. This is a collection that started before I was even a teenager.

I have decided I don't need to hang on to them any more, but I would like them either to go to someone that has a great appreciation for them like I do, or maybe go to a benefit or charity auction. Does any one have a suggestion?

I would get rid of them for just the shipping costs if the situation was right.

Being someone who bid on and won an entire collection at an auction for the High Banks Hall of Fame and Museum I would say donate it to something like that. Winning that collection was the realization of an almost life long dream for me and I'm sure there are others out there like me in that respect. The number one issue alone should fetch over $200 so the entire collection should be a nice infusion of $$ to whichever charitable racing auction you donate it to.

What issues are you missing? I have a collection as well, but not as large as yours. I am also at a loss with what to do with it. However, if we combine the collections maybe we could get more money for an entire set for some charity auction.

an idea...give to Knoxville hall of Fame, or Your Local Sprint Car Publisist, chances are He or She were in diapers when the 1st issues were out, this would give Them a perspective of The Sport They may not realise or been exposed to

I too have a box full of extra issues of Open Wheel. If you can let us know which issues are missing, I'd be happy to help try to fill in the holes before you donate.

Made me wonder if the SCHoF has a reference library and, if so, does it contain a complete collection of every issue.

Sell them and donate the money to your favorite local low budget race team in your area

I talked to the Sprint Car Hall of Fame a year ago and they already have a complete set of Open Wheel.

I think the Knoxville sprint car hall of fame would be glad to auction them off this year at nationals. They get alot of items to auction off and these would be great.
