Dirt Dog TV News Mt Gambier, South Australia | Jan 20, 2012 - WOW! What a Race! Jason Johnson is the King of Borderline Speedway in his first visit to the South Australian bullring. Johnson inherited the lead with three laps to go after local favorite and quick time qualifier of the night #W7 Steven Lines was sent to the back after getting into and crashing race long leader Robbie Farr. The other amazing story of the night was.... who else but Kyle Larson! Even after winning his heat #6, Larson somehow wound up in the B-Main but transferred through to the feature and finished 2nd in the A-Main! Kerry Madsen took third.
Tonight, a large contingent of 80+ Sprint Cars moves up the road an hour and a half to Premier Speedway in Warrnambool for what is the "Knoxville Nationals" of Australia - The Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic. DirtDogTV.com will have full video coverage of The Kings Challenge and The Classic next week.

Kyle Larson just put in one of the best drives I've witnessed at Borderline Speedway. He started out of 8 in the B and qualified for the A finishing 4th. Started out of 17 in the A and finished second. Now this was at a track he'd never seen before and probably a type he would have never raced on. Genuine passing opportunities are at a premium at this track. I'd read the hype but we Australians witnessed something special last night, he is a serious talent.
