Super Sprints Top Ten in Final 2009 Points

1) Darrin Stewart (won final super sprint points race ever) Drove the Butch Roberts #36 sparringly since in ASCS Sooner region. 2012 will see Robert Sellers drive the car

2) Danny Jennings - Still active in ASCS Sooner region and OCRS two barrell action

3) Chris Burns - Drove the #71 Hog Wagon in a couple of OCRS shows but isn't a regular anywhere

4) Joe Wood, Jr. - Locked up his second ASCS Sooner region championship

5) Chris Loyd - Don't think he has raced regularly since closing

6) Strike Hill - Raced during Lawton Winter Nationals and sparringly since closing

7) Kerry McAlister - Think he popped in a two barrel and raced some OCRS this past year. Nothing full-time

8) Lee Jennings - Mostly paying attention to family life if I understand correctly

9) Whit Gastineau - Solid season with the OCRS

10) Sheldon Barksdale - Ran some ASCS Sooner region stuff in '11

Michelle Decker - Former SFS champion chased the Sooner region and should do the same in 2012

Terry Holland - Had a two barrel and ran at Lawton several times in 2012

Gary Owens - Ran Lawton and some OCRS

Brandon Jennings - Got married but trying to put together some stuff for 2012 if I understand correctly

I am not registered or have purchased the newsok.com archive deal so I can't go back and look through the full point standings of that year but your question is one that I have wanted to take time to go through. Not only on the sprint side but all of the divisions from then as it would be interested to see who has indeed - "hung it up."

If anybody has the complete final standings for 2009 please post or email me.

Hope this somewhat has answered your question.

Come on Dave, I'm engaged! Also, I'll be out stronger than ever this year, coming to a "B Feature" near you with a spare motor and frame for the first time in my career.

AB: There were 30 supers and 30 champs on average at SFS. Some of those were doubles (Decker, Sellers, etc.) and some of those were from out of state (Peters, Atkins, etc.). I'd say that about 10-15 cars are sitting, eveyone else has sold out. Most of those are sitting because of finances.

Well that is good to know , thought maybe I had missed out on my chance to sing at you alls wedding ,seeing you were already married nearly spoiled that thing on my "Bucket List of To Do's",LOL .

Tell that pretty future bride of yours to keep studying, she's gonna be my Doc/Surgeon an Operate when I get real old, unless she is changing studies???.

Spares are SWWWEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and sometimes needed, now you can put that quote on the dash.

"Go ahead we got Spares!!!.

I just hope the race tracks can survive, lot's of uncertainty in that business these days .

Engaged/married it is all the same thing as you are in it for life and the sentence that goes with it.

Garnett ran Lawton this year. I think Eddie still has his stuff, I think Erich would know more about that. Anthony McWaters's grandpa still has his car as far as I know. Burns sold out, Lee sold out, Jeff Leep is trying to, Chris Lloyd sold out. Sheldon, McAlister, and Clevenger ran a few times at throughout the year. The Buntins are back in sport mods. Adkins, Peters, Michelle, Joe Jr. are running ASCS. My dad and Rick Barksdale both still have cars and hope to get back in them. If you think of anyone else let me know and I'll see what I can find out.

Eddie's is sitting. His dad had some medical conditions a few years ago that kinda took the steam out of Eddie. His dad is doing fine now. He is thinking about getting back into it but him and his dad are working on a muscle car right now. So they have no time to go sprint car racing.
