Some of the best programs ever , and yes, this is mine.

Your right about the programs from the Copper World. I still have all of the programs of the shows I was able to go to. One of the bits of information was the fastest laps ever turned by all of the different types of cars that raced at PIR. The NASCAR Southwest tour cars were the slowest cars at the Copper World. But the time listed was still faster than what the cup cars turned.

Great work, and I had the posters they made out of a lot of the covers. I used to go by the office and pick them up before the race. They were lost during a divorce though, and I'd be interested if you had any of those.

God I miss the Copper...What a great event. Anyone who was anyone showed up. Scarey fast, great parties, great drivers. One of a kind.

I agree. The Copper World Classics were classic when they involved the super modifieds. Also the midgets were spectacular. Those little cars with their short wheel bases on a one mile track gave a whole new meaning to the term "twitchy."
Those definitely were the days.

The Copper World for most of the participants was like running in the Indy 500. It is sad because so many drivers that excelled in that event went on to big careers. I guess ISC felt threatened. It was a great event to showcase new talent. Sometimes you have to invest in your future by providing an arena for the young guys to show their stuff.

The gathering of the clan was my favourite descriptions of the event; still is.
