Petaluma Speedway Adds New General Manager to Staff
Date: December 16, 2011

Petaluma Speedway will start the 2012 racing season off with the addition of a new general manager and marketing director.Rick Faeth, from Anderson, CA will join long-time track promoter Jim Soares’ staff.Faeth, a veteran BCRA midget owner and driver served seven years as a member of the Bay Cities Racing Association Board of Directors before taking on the promotions and track operations of Shasta Raceway Park from 2008-2011.“Operating Shasta Raceway Park for the previous four seasons has been a rewarding and educational experience for me.Building a valued staff and overseeing all aspects of the maintenance, promotions, and operations became a passionate lifestyle for me and my wife Mary,” stated Faeth.“I welcome the challenge that a premier dirt track facility such as Petaluma Speedway will afford me, and warmly thank Jim Soares for the opportunity.”Jim Soares known affectionately as Dr. Dirt in the short track industry for his track preparation expertise commented “I welcome Rick and his skills set to assist the competitors, sponsors, and race fans in expanding the opportunities of the facility.”Soares will continue as promoter while directing his focus on continued excellent track preparation.

The 2012 Petaluma Speedway Schedule is being finalized and should be released in the next several weeks.Highlighting the season will be the return of a 410 Sprint Car Series race along with multiple Civil War 360 Winged Sprint Car Series dates.The well groomed 3/8-mile oval will also add two new classes to its track division series.The Northern California IMCA Sport Modifieds will campaign along with the Open Modified division.There will also be an entry-level four cylinder class of Hornets which will campaign along with the established Mini-Stock class.Winged 360’s, Wingless Spec Sprints, Late Models, Super Stocks, and Dwarf Cars will also return with dates ranging from 10 to 16 events.BCRA Midgets, Midget Lites, Nor Cal Hardtops, and a pair of West Coast Enduros will also round out the 2012 schedule.For more information and details in the coming weeks please go to the race track website www.petaluma-speedway.com.
