I believe in your class the Modifieds had BMS,Ada,Creek County and then Lake Country and Cowtown all under the same USRA banner/rules this past season, monopolize car counts in Mods , I just thought it cost so much to travel that most just stayed around their local track and could only afford torace one night a week. Modracer, you are right. It was tough. It was an accomplishment to just make the A. If you could somehow come away with an A feature win, you could be proud. Now, if you win the A, you have beaten about 8 cars. Whoopee.

You guys know where I'm going with this. Too many classes. It's basic math. The more classes you have, the less each class gets.

I don't think the purse was ever intended to subsidize people who don't finish up front. It is a hobby.

I do remember when some Street Stock guys tried to convince me that Goldsby was a better track because they paid a dollar a point and SFS only paid $0.25. What they wouldn't understand was that Goldsby paid $30 to win the A and SFS paid $37.50. Enough to feed the whole family at Shotgun Sam's.

Those were the good old days. You'd have to come from the back of a "B" in a 12 lap race with 15 cars and about half of them were fast guys.If you didn't finish 1st or 2nd your night was over. You Better Be Up On That Wheel!!! Too many classes is a big part of the problem. Too many expensive classes. There's got to be one true driver class, but they've all become dollar classes.

Well JD, I did run the Mod division, but it's out of control to be fast in that class. I don't think the "A" Mods car counts can be saved. They are lot of fun to watch, but it's simply too expensive to race them. The tracks could double the payouts and it wouldn't increase the car count that much(just my opinion). I'm hoping the Sport Mod class doesn't go crazy next. Like Iv'e said before, they need to make it easier for fans to get into the hobby. I'm running a sport mod next year. Hopefully they leave the rules alone for a few years.

As far as the Promoters side of the deal I have always Preached there are too many classes of cars and no standards of rules across the Great State of Oklahoma.

Each and every Promoter feels the need to capture their local race teams in order for them survive when in reality it working against them. Working with each other on Rules and Schedules will only help both, the Racer and the Promoter.

Like I said way to many classes of cars. Narrow the field of classes and common Rules at each track will surely make a huge impact.
