Western World Champion Aims for Winter Challenge!

Kevin Montgomery PEORIA, Ariz. (December 9th, 2011) – Tracy Hines ended his Sprint Car season with a bang by becoming the 44th Annual Western World Champion capturing both his preliminary night feature and then earning the crown by beating 2-time Western World Champion Brady Bacon on the final night. Hines will head back to Arizona this January with hopes of starting 2012 in similar fashion at Canyon Speedway's Winter Challenge.

Hines will be aboard the same MP Environmental Services/Schoenfeld Headers/Wesmar powered/Maxim that took him to his season ending victory in November and will now set his sites on Canyon Speedway's 3/8-mile clay oval for six races over the course of nine days on January 27th, 28th, 29th February 1st, 3rd and 4th.

The 2012 Winter Challenge will feature top traditional Sprint Car drivers from around the country as the American Sprint Car Series faces off with the USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series while IMCA Modified aces converge in the valley of the sun for what is anticipated to be one of the largest racing events of 2012. More than $100,000 in "A" Feature money alone will be distributed over the course of the blockbuster event that kicks off with the $2,000 to win Winter Challenge opener and will conclude with the $5,000 to win finale on February 4th.

Nearly 100 drivers from across America will be expected to take part in what will be one of the must see events of 2012 and will feature the Nations top teams all gunning for one of the richest payouts in the west.

A Pair of Champions Eager For CSP Winter Challenge

Kevin Montgomery PEORIA, Ariz. (December 12th, 2011) – While the holidays quickly approach and the New Year is just around the corner Santa's elf's are busy making plans and building toys for children everywhere. The same holds true for racers and race fans across the country as the 2012 racing season draws near and two Arizona Champions prepare for Canyon Speedway's Winter Challenge 2012.

Guy Norton, who captured his first IMCA Modified Championship in 2011, is hard at work preparing his sleigh for the upcoming IMCA Winter Challenge that will not only award IMCA Championship Bonus Points but will also give participants a head start on earning State, Regional and National IMCA Points.

The Winter Challenge will kick off an eight race IMCA Modified series on Friday January 27th with six of the eight races being held at Canyon Speedway prior to moving to the final IMCA winter destination of Yuma, Arizona's Cocopah Speedway with the IMCA Modified Winter Nationals on Friday February 10th and Saturday February 11th.

Jeremy Sherman ended his 2011 campaign by earning his 5th ASCS Wingless Sprint Car Championship aboard the Ellis Racing/Star 21 Sportsware/Sands Chevrolet mount. Sherman will again team with Dave Ellis for a shot at the Winter Challenge Title as he prepares to take on an increasingly tough crowd of National Sprint Car stars expected to sling dirt at Canyon Speedway's 3/8-mile clay oval for six races over the course of nine days on January 27th, 28th, 29th February 1st, 3rd and 4th.
