The Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car Dirt Series returns to action this weekend with two nights of winged sprint car racing at Southern New Mexico Speedway. Listen to every lap both Friday and Saturday night at 7:30 CST (6:30 MST) on RacinBoys Radio. Scott Traylor anchors the webcasts with Bryan Hulbert on the call.

Here's truth....Royal Jones, the 'owner' of the SNMS, is one of the finest, most honorable men I've ever met!! And I'm old. And his passion for racing is off the charts! Geez we need more like him.

7:40 p.m.) First sprint car heat race to staging.

(7:23 p.m.) Hot laps are wrapping up. There will be three x mod heat races before the sprints hit the track.

It’s not as cold as I anticipated. My phone says the temperature is 53 degrees with a “Realfeel” of 51 degrees.

(6:58 p.m.) The track is still very wet, so everyone will get a second session of hot laps. The second session will be green-white-checkered.

(6:33 p.m.) In the middle of hot laps. The track was pretty wet, so packing took awhile. Lap times are pretty slow though.

(5:44 p.m.) The drivers are headed out to pack the track.

(5:41 p.m.) Here are the lineups for the eight-lap heat races:
