Wonder if it is a car Gene Suggs drove. Just guessing. I remember he had one blue #16 called the Penny Pincher.

Definitely was built on a tight budget, but must have fairly nice for it's day.

Could be a Gene Suggs car. First thought was one of D.E,Suggs early rides.

D. E. (Gene) Suggs drove a super with #16 and Randy Whitson drove a modified with #16. I think both were blue with the nick name of RoHo. Randy was later killed after moving to supers during state fair races

GRC35,
I remember DE's #16 Blue ROHO car don't remember it having this excat body style also thought it was smaller tubing, this looks almost like an old car frame redone. Jim Messimer might be able to shed some light on it!!!
Have you been doing any car shows lately????

David:
I have had a busy summer with work, but have made a few. Went to Goodguys @ Texas Motor Speedway 1st weekend in October, won an award and got to take the 55 around the track. I thought about the #16 some more and I the #16 that Jimmy Whitson drove was a sedan. I looked through some of my old programs and found a picture of Jimmy in the #16 sedan, Bill Parker in the #49 sedan and me all involved in a crash up against the grandstand wall right underneath the flag stand when Ollie was still flagging. I don't remember any other #16 with that style body and that style of lettering on the numbers except for DE.

I have no idea who's car it was. Neither does the current owner.
I was kinda tempted to try to buy it and redo it like my Dad's last race car. But I have too many irons in the fire right now. Still that metal body and tail, look a bit closer than anything I've seen lately. But then again, maybe not.

The best I remember D.E. drove blue # 16 on the 1/2 mile about 1970. This is not that car. The Penny car was a bit sharper than this. Seem to remember Billy Riggle drove modified # 75 in the early 70's, his brother Ed Riggle I believe drove # 16 modified from time to time, seem to remember it being a white car though, just something to think about, will keep looking through old programs.

It could be a one time deal from out of town. I suppose you had to have a Mar-Car sticker just to run even once. This may be an old Lawton or Anadarko car, or possibly a Wichita Falls mod.
