On Friday September 23, 2011 we lost 2 members of the same family, Van Free and his daughter Aimee Pando in an automobile accident on HWY 74. This is Maggie Leep's father and sister. Van worked at F&F Engines/ Horton Motors for over 30 years. Aimee was a guidance counselor at Hefner Middle School in Oklahoma City. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations at any Bank of Oklahoma to the Aimee Pando or the Van Free Memorial Fund, benefiting the children.Aimee is survived by her loving husband Rolando Pando of the home; three beautiful children Rolando Pando, Jr.(10), Anabelle Pando(4), and Abel Pando(1) all of the home. Van and Aimee were both exceptional people. Van built my motor the last year I raced and without his help I wouldn't have raced at all that year. They were both great people to be around, always good for a laugh or two. They will be missed greatly by Jamie and me. I am glad we got to spend some time with them recently at Harlie's birthday party. They are in a better place now.
