Are you a sprint car driver or enthusiast?
Are you between the ages of 18-30?
We are casting for a reality based Television show featuring drivers and crew involved in the Warriors division of Sprint Car Racing.
The show will highlight the lives of this amazing group of people that drive hard and play even harder! We're looking for drivers, crewmembers, fans, trophy girls, and track workers, and anyone who is involved and nuts about racing.
We’re looking for loud and we are looking for funny. And we’re looking for people who like to mix it up. If you are interested, submit a short bio and video of yourself showing your personality and love of racing. In the video, please tell us your name, age, and what series of sprint cars you race.
We also want to know what you like to do in your spare time. Do you have another job outside of racing? What do you do for fun? Some of the video can be interview style, but you should feel free to shoot other material of what you like to do after the race. What do you do with your friends when you’re not racing? See the submission instructions below.
Again, we are looking for loud, funny, interesting, tough, crazy characters. Boring people need not apply. For young racers this is an exposure opportunity of a lifetime!! We are considering filming during the Wheatland, MO races on Sept 23rd and 24th. Ideal applicants should be available to race in/attend that race.
Compensation: There will be no initial monetary compensation for appearances in the casting tape. All travel to shooting and casting locations must be covered by the applicants themselves. Should the series move forward, there will be compensation negotiated on case-by-case basis. This will be a talent fee for each episode that is produced.
Requirements: Ideally, all applicants will live within a 4/5 hr driving radius of Sedalia, MO. All applicants should be participating/attending a race almost every weekend, if not every weekend. All applicants should have their own transportation.
How to submit your materials for consideration: Email your audition video and contact information to casting at: [email protected]. The video should be NO LONGER than 60 seconds. If your video is a large file size – we suggest that you use yousendit.com or dropbox.com to send your video in. Or send your video in two sections for easier emailing.
If you cannot send in a video, please email a recent color digital snapshot, short bio about your racing connection, yourself, your life outside of racing, and your contact information. OR you can mail in your photo, bio, contact info, and if possible a DVD of your audition video to: Joni Tackette Casting, Attn: Sprint Car Racing Search, 103 W. Lockwood Ave., Ste. 217, Webster Groves, Mo. 63119. Please no phone calls at this time. If you have questions, you may email Casting at [email protected].
Submit your materials ASAP and before Sept. 20th, 2011!!

Sounds like you need to get ahold of Ref. Ain't nobody anywhere knows more about sprint car racing (from 25 years ago anyway) than him (just ask him). And talk about loud?????
I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks
anywhere.

Sounds well thought out to me.... I am glad that they are concentrating on the Warriors division of sprint car racing......I thought that maybe they were going to concentrate on the Sharks or the Jets.....I am glad that they want loud, funny, interesting, tough, crazy characters.....We need to do all that we can to keep the redneck stereotype going...... Interesting, intetlligent, well spoken, mature people would never make it as a sprint car person.....To insure success, we are going to try to do this thing in less than three weeks. No reason to get a lot of good candidates, no reason to have a lenghty search process, no reason to have a lot of background material, no reason to try to do this right.
In the end, we are just going to show a bunch of rednecks going around in circles. Don't tell anyone, but our real goal is to charge these yahoos something with the dreams of getting this reality show on TV. I can already hear the sales pitch, "We got some great characters, we got some great footage, we got some great shows, we are just a little short in the production area. If everyone could come up with X thousands dollars, I know that we could get this on the air. Then you would be just as famous as those guys in Deadliest Catch".....How smart can they be anyway. They spend $100,000 to win $2,000.

I had the same feeling about it.

Nothing ever produced of the last racing reality show. What was it 7 years ago? The one where they took like 12 drivers from many forms were going to have them compete. Kinda like a "Top Shot" but for racing. Compete in cars out of their element. They even had the cast already set. I know Ricky Logan was one and I think Brian Brown was one.
Anyone remember the name of that show? Kenny Wallace and Kenny Schrader were suppose to host it.

IMHO - Scotty Cook should be the emcee/spokesmodel ... talk about 'off the hook' -- now that would be a winner and 'Crowd Pleaser'...

I have thought about this for awile and you know what, you're right. God forbid someone wanting to make a show about sprint cars. Perhaps all they want to do is feature us Missouri hillbilly's in a negative light. Or, perhaps, somebody is actually wanting to do a show about racers and the people who help them. Holy shit, why would anybody want to watch that. Who cares how much time it takes them to do it? I guess you do. How about instead of bitching because noone asked your opinion, we try to support this. Any exposure for sprint cars is a good thing right? I forgot, most folks on here think if it's not in Cali or Pennsylvania, it not real racing.

My concern is not that they are trying to do something for sprint car racing, but how they are trying to throw something together at the last moment. My second concern is not that they are looking for interesting racers to be the main characters, but are looking for interesting characters who happen to be racers.
As a resident of the Show-Me state, I have a lot of memories about the last reality show based in the midwest. Heartland Thunder was well thought out, well planned, and had good production. However, the show was not very good. Just because it is on TV does not mean it is a good thing.
