360 SPRINTS BACK TO KINGS THIS SATURDAY
USAC’s West Coast 360 Sprint Car Series resumes action Saturday night at Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway in Hanford, Calif. and the VanderWeerd brothers of Visalia, Calif. will try to continue their quest for a 1-2 series point finish. Richard VanderWeerd continues to lead the standings by 53 points over runner-up Ryan Bernal, but Jace VanderWeerd is only 26 points behind Bernal in third. Richard’s five podium finishes this year include a Hanford victory, while Jace’s top Hanford finishes are a pair of fifths. Jace won at Santa Maria Speedway earlier in the year. Bernal is on a two-race series winning streak and his four runner-up finishes so far this year include one at Hanford. A total of 74 points are available in Saturday’s “Jim Turner Memorial.”
