Sprint Challenge headed to I-80
On Friday and Saturday, September 16 & 17, I-80 Speedway will be hosting the ASCS/NCRA Challenge. The races will pit the stars of the American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) against the stars of the National Championship Racing Association (NCRA). The feature both nights will pay $3,000 to win and $400 to start.
The two events will close out the 2011 ASCS Midwest Region point's season. The NCRA Sprints will close out their season on October 1 at 81 Speedway in Wichita. Jack Dover currently leads the ASCS Midwest standings with C. J. Johnson leading the NCRA points.
Racing will start at 7pm both nights. Grandstand Admission for Adults is $15 on Friday night and $20 on Saturday night. Juniors (6-15) will be $5 each night with 5 and under free. Pit Passes will be $30 each night. On Friday night the Sprint Cars will be joined by the Good Old Time Racing Association (GOTRA).
On Saturday night in addition to another complete Sprint Car show, the Grand National/Limited Late Models/Crates & Sport Compacts will both be running double features (no heats). The Late Model features will each pay $300 to win and $40 to start. The Sport Compact features will each pay $100 to win and $20 to start. A NASCAR license will not be required and there will be no NASCAR discount on pit passes.
I-80 Speedway is located off Interstate 80 at exit 420, halfway between Omaha and Lincoln. The 4/10 mile dirt track is home to the NASCAR Whelen All American Series (NWAAS) on Sunday nights, and host several special featuring touring late model and sprint car series.
