Feture Winners:
360 Shawn VanWyhe (I think this might be his first feature win at Jackson)
Limited Nate Eakin (3rd night out in the sprinter)
I will post complete rundown shortly.

Notes
Lap 5: Red for 2h of Phipps when the front wheel broke off and slammed the car into the turn three wall. He was running in second place at the time.
Lap 11: Yellow for the R19 of Winters when the front end broke and he stopped on the backstretch. He was running 5th at the time.
Lap 16: Yellow for the 2d of Dobesh when he went off turn two with a broken torsion stop. He had worked his way up to 5th.
Checkered: Vogelaar edged Lusk for the third place finish by ½ a car. VanWyhe ran a strong race, pulling away from the field on each restart.
Limited Sprints (10 cars)
Feature (ran 16 laps for Green White Checkered finish)
1- 1N Nate Eakin (2)

DNF 13 Jake Nicosen(1)
DNQ 3d Ryan Voss
Lap Leaders: 1-16 Eakin
Notes:
Lap 10: Red for 3s of Pankow when he hit the wall in turn four. He was done for the night. Nicosen was sent to the infield at this time for being lapped twice. Thurmer was sent in for a dangling brake caliper on the front for safety reasons.
Lap 14: Yellow for the 0 of Stevenson when he smoked going into turn three, dumping fluids on the track.
Side Note: 3d of Ryan Voss participated with the limited sprints but was not scored in the field as he was running a Midwest 305 legal motor that uses injection, unlike the limited sprints in Jackson. He started in the back and worked his was up to third. After the caution, he was again placed near the back of the field to let the other drivers race for the positions. He was fun to watch and gracious about giving up the track position at the end of the race for the other drivers to race.

i now this isnt sprint related, but hopefully someone can shed some light on this for me. in the stock car feature when both larsons and dustin smith came down the front stretch for the checkered, what went on? i was standing on the back stretch so i could see both corners and the flag stand (like the back stretch view better than the front stretch). i noticed that when smith and jim larson came down the back stretch after the race jim larson what ramming smith in the drivers door. i can only assume that smith and the other larson in the 7L ( i dont know what his name is) were rubbing fenders to the checkered, and god forbid that anyone touch a larson car and not get rhonda fired up. i was standing at the scales when jim and the 7L weighed and rhonda and some other larson girl were screaming and yelling and kid you not, on the verge of tears. all i could do, including everyone else down there, was laugh at them for making fools of themselves. although the choice words being thrown around, in front of a 3 or 4 year old at that,(why a kid that young was down there is beyond me) could have made a sailor blush. im sorry but i cannot and will not feel sorry for any of the larsons getting pushed around, not after all the cars that jim has wrecked over the years. lets all remember that it was jim last year that purposly pushed jeff senne off the back stretch last year and rolled jeffs car. so any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I couldn't tell you what went on that final lap as I was scoring the race. I can tell you that on lap 14 the running order was 7L, 6L, 11k. 85. At the line the winning order was 85, 7L, 6L, and 11k. Sorry I couldn't be more help, but it was a good race to the finish.
Have a safe Memorial Day

From the perspective of someone sitting in the stands (and the 4 people behind us agreed), the 85 got a great run on the last lap and passed both Larsons for the win. He didn't appear to bang into either of them, just got a really good run and pulled it out on the outside. We could see Jim banging the heck out of him on the backstretch after the race, but then I don't know why anyone who has ever watched him race would be surprised about that.

What's more sickening than Rhonda Larson? Seeing anybody with the last name Smith win!!!!! If the Smith's start racing at Jackson I will not be attending! They should stay at BV and Algona, where they belong. As for Jeffry, Jim, and Rhonda.....MORE POWER TO YA! They have more passion for racin' in their pinky than most people will ever have in their entire unfulfilled lives!!

so what if smiths come to jackson? they are good and fast, besides no one had any problems when randy brands was killing the field week in and week out. why should they be limited to bv and algona when they run for NATIONAL POINTS? as for larsons having passion, then i would like to know what your smoking. ask any random person in the pits and you will get the same response. rhonda thinks they are gods gift to the racing world, but we all know better. im not going to try and persuade you hoosiergal, but the proof is in the pudding. if larsons stopped showing up, there would be a big sigh of relieve by the other guys be cause they would know that their equipment wouldnt be tore up at the end of the night

The funniest part of all of this (which nobody has mentioned as of yet), is it was absolutely the cleanest race I've seen Jim Larson ever race! He ran second to his son for many many laps and I think only bumped him one time that I could see. Funny how he had a hard time keeping his car from hitting the 85 after the race on the cool down lap after he just put the whoop ass on both of them! Things will never change....the sun will always come up in the east, the sky is blue, and Jim Larson will run into everything on the track. The unfortunate part of the whole thing, is he's damn good, and way too good to have to race like he does....he could win cleanly if he so chose.

7l jeffrey larson lost a cylinder on the last lap from a broken rocker arm. thats what helped smith get a good run to the checkered.
