My wife and I left Knoxville the Wed. morning the 410 nationals were starting. We each had had a great time at K-Ville for the 360 Nationals / All-Star show and the Sunday USAC race. As always, the OSKY events are awesome to attend.
When we awoke Wed. morning to head home, we each had this awful flu or cold virus that we contracted. The drive back to Oklahoma that day was the toughest drive I think I have ever made. Today is the eighth day since and we are both just getting over what ever it was we caught. Now I see on another post by "Canucklehead" that he too caught a virus while in town. Which makes us curious to know.....
Did anyone else catch a virus bug during their time in Knoxville?

I was taking my ,I always have some along, antibiotics, and Benadry and guafiesen, in the prescribed dosage,I have it too and I think the infections were from dirty ice or dirty water then frozen, its not the first time I've gotten that at a track, thats why usually carry my own or drink alcohol ,moderately, instead of an iced soda, but I did have a drink Wed.night.

I woke up every morning (sometimes early afternoon) feeling like crap. But i think that might have been from something else. On a serious note, i did hear a couple of people complaining that they may have picked up a virus. One of the guys from our group left the stands early Friday night with a real bad gut ache and he said he threw up when he got back to the camper. Felt a little better on Saturday but not 100%. He is a die hard drinker so he could tell me for sure that it was something other than alcohol. I noticed he did not drink much on Friday night before he got sick and left.

I always leave the Chili Bowl sick, but I blame that on so damn many people, from all over the country, in one building during the middle of winter, with fumes, for 4 straight days. I figure it's worth being sick to be at the Chili Bowl.

Thanks for posting. I was looking for something positive about not being able to afford to attend the Nationals. I have felt great all week.

I am righteous with you Brother Stan, I kept telling myself, too hot, too expensive, gas prices too high, need to save up for family outing later this month, but now with virus talk - I can say, I feel gooooooooooooooooooood.

I was sick when I got back home on sunday afternoon, but I think it is from knowing the Knoxville nationals are over for another year.
