I have heard or seen little concerning the Little 500 held in Anderson IN. While not a pavement racing fan and 500 miles does not a sprint car race make this has always held a promenent place in the racing world. Since I'm aware of one local car that has been built to compete there I assume that it is being held this year but I have seen not the first thing about it. It used to be a traditional show without the "trainers" on the cage so at least they have that going for them!

Never is that I can find. Every May I think about going over to watch this thing....I figure it's one of those you HAVE to experience at least once....but it isn't going to be this year with gas prices so high.

The Little 500 is on this weekend, but I'm going to
Lawrenceburg instead Saturday night. Would have been at Anderson
tonight, but the PMP van needed a new center bearing and U-joint too in
preparation for the next 4 nights all over the State of Indiana.
Everyone should do the Little 500 at least once.
USAC is heading to Pa in a couple weeks. You gonna leave that sprint car less State of Florida to come up and see them??

I used to live in Indiana and the Little 500 is awesome. 33 sprint cars, starting three wide in 11 rows is just plain awesome. My favorite memory was watching David Steele slice & dice the lapped cars, sometimes going three wide on the tight little 1/4 mile track. This is a must see for any open wheel fan.

There used to be tape-delayed coverage when I lived there, but don't know if they continue to cover it since then. If I recall, it was a local station that covered the race and televised it.
It's a sight to see, that's for sure.

Mighty Quinn, the next road trip from the sprintless state will be K-ville Nats with races on the way up whenever possible. I'd sure like to join you at those real sprint car races. I plan on taking in the Little 500 one day, but await the transition of the racing surface to dirt!
