I've never been to Angel Park, and have always wanted to check it out I'm a truck driver and from the south so I may need detailed help. Is there any place to park a rig close to the track and it still be safe.

It has been several years since I went to Angell Park, but I would say yes. The track sits next to a residential area and a new high school, so the entire area is safe. I always remember there being a lot of parking in the parking lots. So, I would think that you would be safe, but I don't remember seeing a big rig in the parking lot.

If the parking lot does not work out, the pit parking lot could be an option. They pit the cars in the infield of the track, but make them park thier rigs outside of turns 3-4. There is a lot of space in that area for a big rig.

Finally, the high school parking lot may be the answer. It was under construction the last time I was at the track. So, I don't know how close the parking lot is to the track or how far you would have to walk. Have you asked this questin on www.indianaopenwheel.com? A lot more wingless and midget fans on that site. I know several of them regularly go to Angell Park. BTW. I absolutely love APS you will not be disappointed.

justwingit,

on the north side of the track is where the haulers file in , then lopps around to the south side of the track , to the pit shack area. (there is somewhat of a north and a south entrance to the track, two entrances)there is plenty of parking right there( north parking lot) for a semi that is mostly empty even during race time other than possible overnight parked motor homes but very few. there is even a line of shade trees on the very northern border so you could conceivbly get a tiny bit of shade here.

angel park is actually the towns city park and is not really any people there on Sunday evenings.( at the park part, i mean)

do a google maps for angel park, sun prarie,wi ,then select the satellite image and zoooom in, you can see were this area is. you could probably even park your rig outside in the gravel at the city park part as well, and the town is small enough you wont have anyone messing with the truck there,i would be almost certain.

EDIT: Here you go,, satellite image. ZOOM in to see parking area:

have fun.

The south entrance is the closest to the main fan entrance. This is where most of the fans park. I really never knew what was on the north side. After looking at the google map, there would be a ton of parking there. Good luck.

Go there all the time. Have seen big trucks park in the upper lot on the east side of the track off county N. they usualy park closer to the road then the track. that side is always empty. The only date this won't work is cornfest Aug 21st as the entire grounds is used for festival parking.

usac will be there with badger on aug 21st and sept 3 for the pepsi nationals those should be the better races just dont know about parking for ya on cornfest . the school is right next to the track so that would be a short walk if you can park there.

badger races on july 24th and aug 14th

Its a neat place you should check it out
