Ok I grew up around sprints , they are not popular in my area , and I cannot afford to travel , so I built a modified , ran itoncein a year not as fun as a sprint , I found out the other day a racesaver 305 seriesis forming 2 hrs from me so I decided to put the mod up for sale or trade , my wifeis not too sure yet about me making the switch , safety wise (thank you real tv) I tell her that I have rarely seen ppl get hurt , except on the bigger tracks (knoxville ,eldora , williams grove etc.) And that is very rare as well and I pointed out the fact that most of those are in 410 cars which make 900 hp compared to a 305 that makes about 425 hp which is about 60% less , and stil over200hp less than a 360 , I have searched the net looking for something that focuses on sprint safety record but I cant find much except a one dirt praiseing safety even though the writer feels sprints are the most dangerous race cars in motorsports , I ran 600 mini sprints which she had no problem with I explained that a full size sprint was safer mainly due to its larger size , she kinda bought it , I also explained to her that my crotch rocket on the interstate at 80 was wwwwaaaayyyy more dangerous than any sprint car , I know she would do it even if she didnt like it , but I dont want it coming back to haunt me , so if someone could help me with some hard info good or bad I can show her I would appriciate it thanks

I've driven non wing sprints 410 and 360 for 12 years and feel safer on the track than the drive on the freeway to the track...btw don't hard sell the horsepower thing..in a year or two when you want to step up to a 360 or 410 that arguement could bite you in the ass....offer to sell the crotch rocket??

lol thanks , as far the 360/410 deal goes , here 410s only come around once every 2 or 3 yrs (woO) 360s maybe 3 times a year if we are lucky , the 305s have caught on like wildfire a few hours away and thats the main reason for the new series to form a little closer now race saver rules btw ,
as far as selling the bike , not gonna happen she was against that at first got the kids a sitter one night , took her around town and now she wants one for herself , the biggest thing that got her was i think was last woO came we went and jason sides barrel rolled right in front of us and i think the image of that stayed in her mind , plus she knows a sprint is easier to flip than a modified is , and i think thats what is got her worried , like i said before i can do it and she wont get mad , she would just be a nervous wreck for awhile , and i would feel bad for doing that , thanks

You answered your own question. Let her hotlap a 305, she'll want one of those too. That might create some unanticipated budget problems keeping two cars on the track though.

Musta been Haubstaudt.. Tell her Jason's OK (the cars are safe) and he drove home that night! It was an unfortunate situation where a lapper caused all of the carnage...

The person that told you that "sprints are the most dangerous race cars in motorsports" told you the truth.

i dont think she would try it , a few years back when i racing karts she tried a powder puff race got tied up in a wreck and wound up with a 200lb woman and kart on top of her (shes 90lbs soaking wet ) that ended her racing career
the jason sides deal was at pike county speedway in southern ms about 3 yrs ago , which amazed her that he was back out for b main and feature , she swore up and down that he would never drive again after that .
as far sprints being the most dangerous i have a hard time with that one , i remember kart racing at least once every two weeks someone was breaking bones , i remember in my class alone in one night a guy broke his shoulder , and another broke is arm and ribs i do appericiate the info though
