In a week myself, Qman, BRR & 71fan will be making our 1st trek to Sharon as we head west for our annual Kings Royal trip.
Any tips on the best place to sit? Does Qman have to worry about non-alcoholic sections?
We'll be arriving early & camping overnight.
We have an appearance at the original "Quaker, Steak & Lube" scheduled as well.

I think the restaurant(QS&T) is closed. Don't quote me on that but, I could swear that it wasn't open the last time I was over that way.
The lot across the road from the track is good for camping so, you guys will be good to go on that account.
I usually prefer sitting in the back stretch stands but, the sun can be brutal to your eyes early on in the evening so, if you guys decide to sit back there definately come prepared with some sun glasses. I'm not aware of any non-alcoholic sections but, as I said before I only sit on the back stretch. Also, incase you guys plan on eating at the track(I know you're going to QS&T but...) the food tends to be fairly inconsistent. Sometimes it's good but most times it's not.

Sharon tends to be dusty, especially this time of the year. If you can get there early (it'll be a packed house), sit in the section of uncovered grandstands going into turn 1. For some reason the dust never seems to blow in that direction and the sun is out of your eyes. The sight lines aren't too bad either, but you do have to deal with some of the pillars from the roof of the covered section. The backstretch is easier to find a seat but you typically get pounded with dust.
The Lube is always a good shot when in town. They have good wings (Arizona Ranch is the best). Tuesday is All You Can Eat night there too, but it doesn't start until 5. Not sure if that'll fit into your schedule.

When I was there for the Speedweek show, the 4th turn grandstands were pretty dirty, even though the dust wasn't that bad that night. So i'd try to avoid those. Covered grandstands will be packed, but are pretty nice and close to concessions. Backstretch offers a pretty cool view for the actual racing, but like was said before, on a sunny day, can be brutal. Sharon is a really nice facility, and the Speedweek show a few weeks back was really good.

Stop at Stubb's at your own risk, trust me. I spent the night there after the Doty many years ago and when we got back to his place I agreed to have 'just one drink' with him. This turned out to be 'just one drink' of every flavor he had in his bar, my stomach still remembers that night and my sides for the hours of laughing at each others silliness, man we had all the answers to sprint car racing that night. My memories of these nights far exceed the hundreds & hundreds of races covered during those years and that's what I miss the most in hindsight.....
