I'm looking for anyone that wants to sponsor a lap for Billy Pratt (leader of lap 12) The Bagley Family (leader of lap 21) and also Dean Thompson (leader of lap 1)

Bidding closed on the Fire Suit...closed at $200.00, winning bidder has not indicated what position in the race the money will go yet. The race is in 25 days, over 100 fans have read this post, no offers as of yet...the Walt James Last Man Standing trophy dash has over $1,500.00 up for grabs, the Billy Wilkerson Fast Time is at $250.00, $100.00 to the winner of the B Main, 100 to the hard charger, lap 4 and lap 19 are the only two laps claimed so far. Lefty Len put 100 on the winner, Mike & Bridget have turned over 100, still waiting to hear where it is going. I'm looking for help...

Thanks for the support Lefty... every dollar helps. The car counts are down and money is the reason. This race is for the fans, it is for the racers and it is for anyone that wants to pay tribute to a hero etc. Every penny collected goes into the purse, there are no administion fees, no percentage to the "home office", no postage fees etc. The Last Man Standing should be a race in itself, this will be for the fastest four in time trials that want to compete, it will be slightly different than Santa Maria, with more cash and the purse will be spread out a little bit more (with at least $1,100 going to the winner so far) A fan came up and handed me $10.00, I only caught his first name, (Greg) if every fan put $10.00 into the purse it would be the biggest payday in a long time for our group...like I said, I'll roll dimes, I'll take 1 dollar bills, I'll do whatever it takes to put a little extra into the racers pocket book and honor the folks that have spent their lives building the CRA group for the last 60+ years.

THANK YOU to Norma and Lee Leonard for sponsoring lap one in memory of Dean Thompson. I was asked to say hello to everyone from Danny P., and an added twist to the Walt James last man standing dash, after the second car drops out, there is going to be a one minuet pit stop, the cars will go on the clock as soon as the second car comes to a stop, at the end of one minuet the crews have to back away from the cars, at that time, the second place driver or car owner is going to reach into a bag that will have 2 pills, one with a #1 and one with a #2, if he picks a #1 he gets to decide if he wants to start on the pole or outside, if he picks a #2, the first place car decides if he wants to start high or low (pole or outside). And THANK YOU to Dick Woodland / Woodland Auto Display in Paso Robles (Estralla War Birds Museum) for sponsoring lap 11 in memory of Billy Wilkerson and lap 21 in memory of The Bagley Family. Still Looking for a sponsor for lap 15 in honor of Bill Pratt. Huntington Beach Glass and Mirror has put up $100 for the hard charger, Thank You Tom and Lauri...

Chris, I can't think of a family that has given more to our sport then the Bagleys. Please use the money I bid on the Suit to the highest placed Owner/Driver of Lap 21 (if that is feasible). Joe

Joe, thanks for the support, this is an edit to my original post...Joe has issued a challenge to all fans to donate what you can to sponsor lap 21 in the memory of the Paul Bagley family, Joes 100 dollars will go to the highest position scored at the end of lap 21 that is an owner AND driver, his challenge does not specify where any future sponsors money goes but he hopes his contribution will promote more towards lap 21, be it the leader, last place or anything in between in honor of a family that was a constant weekly supporter of the CRA. Paul and Helen Bagley gave $500 every year to the rookie of the year for many years and it was common for Paul to shake the hand of a trophy dash winner with a $100 bill rolled up in the palm of his hand in addition to the many other $100.00 bills that were handed out to a hard luck driver or car owner when no one was looking...

THANK YOU to Lee and Norma Leonard, the Billy Wilkerson Fast Time Award is now at $400.00...this should be one heck of a Qualifying Session, if you think you don't like time trials, you might want to check this night out, it could change your mind. (July 30th, at the PAS, please bring a friend)

Chris, put Dynamic DeZigns racing flags down for $100 on Lap 21. I remember how fulfilling the MidWest swing was for Jeff before we lost him at Ascot. I'd like to be at PAS 7/30, but might not make it. Send an address to [email protected] where you need the check. Tony Otto

THANK YOU TONY, your $100 will put a total of $300.00 going towards lap 21, Paul and Helen were naturally heartbroken when we lost Jeff and tried to honor him in everyway they could, this year we will continue that and carry on their wishes. I used to carry two $100.00 bills in my wallet, one from Paul and one from Larry Jolly, they would call me on my cell phone and ask me to "go over and give (whoever it was at the time) a $100.00 and tell them it was from a fan"...they were great fans and really generous people.

Back to the top, just 3 more $20 donors for another $100. ( or six at $10). Skip a beer and support a racer.
