Annual Alphabet Soup highlights weekend for NCRA Late Models!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas – May 23, 2011 - The gladiators of the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Smiley's Racing Products DIRTcar late model division kick back into action this coming Memorial Day weekend as the tour heads to Junction Motor Speedway in McCool, Nebraska on Saturday night, followed by their annual trip to I-80 Speedway at Nebraska Raceway Park in Greenwood, Nebraska for the 10th annual running of the "Alphabet Soup" on Sunday night.

The Junction Motor Speedway event to kick off the Memorial Day weekend of racing for the late model series is new to the tour after being held elsewhere the past several years. The Saturday night feature winner will earn $2500 and will also kick off the inaugural season for the new NCRA DIRTcar Late Model Great Plains Region.

As has been the case for the past ten years over the Memorial Day weekend, the series will take part in the annual "Alphabet Soup" race that will feature the cars and late model stars of not only NCRA DIRTcar series but the DART Corn Belt Clash and Lucas Oil MLRA late model divisions. Quite a mixture of ingredients for sure that is sure to fill up the hunger of any true late model fan. The nights 50 lap feature finale winner will also get their share of fulfillment as he/she will earn a hearty $5000. That is better than any other soup brand out on the market today.

But who will be this year's winner as there have been nine different drivers earning the soup honors in the past nine years with only Kyle Berck (2002-2003) a repeat winner?

The pit gates at Junction Motor Speedway on Saturday night will open at 5:30 PM with a 7:30 PM scheduled start time. General admission tickets are just $15 with pass passes $30. For more race and ticket information, contact the track office (402) 773-5538 ext. 539. Junction Motor Speedway is located four miles south of York I-80 interchange in McCool Junction, Nebraska.

For the I-80 Speedway "Alphabet Soup" event on Sunday evening, grandstand general admission is $20 for adults, kid's ages 6-15 years of age $5 and children five and under admitted free. Pit gates open at 3:00 PM while grandstand gates open at 4:30 PM. Racing action is scheduled for a 5:55 PM start time. For more information contact I-80 Speedway (402) 659-3301. I-80 Speedway is located off of I-80 to exit 420 (Ashland/Greenwood Exit), then 0.4 mile north on SR 63.
