Oklahoman Keeps The Money In The Sooner State!

Twenty midget drivers from five states showed up at Creek County Speedway in Kellyville, OK Saturday night trying their best to take home the $1000 first prize, but Oklahoma's own Dustin Morgan was able to take the lead at the halfway point of the KMK Transportation-Southern Open Wheel Series main event and hold on the rest of the way for the win! Morgan battled Missouri's Brad Loyet over the first ten laps before finally powering past on the tenth lap to take the top spot over Loyet, Christopher Bell, Alex Sewell, and Jonathan Beason!

Midget Ace Matt Sherrell was the high point man after completion of heat race action, but Sherrell elected to take the Ken's Automotive-Front Row Challenge and start from the rear of the twenty car field in an effort to receive an extra $1000 if he could race his way back to the front and win! Sherrell put on a good show from the back as he raced his way back up through the field on the lightning fast track to a sixth place finish and was the Doyle Int. hard charger award winner.

Josh Toho received $150 from Revolution Racing Engines for being the highest finishing Eco-Tech powered car in the field by bringing his Chett Gherke owned mount home in 8th place, while Brandon Hahn received an extra $50 for being the second highest finishing Eco-Tech!

The KMK Transportation-Southern Open Wheel Series would like to thank the Green Family and Creek County Speedway for letting us be a part of the Dylan Koyn Open Wheel Benefit and also for working so hard to get the track in shape after all the rain!

The KMK Transportation-Southern Open Wheel Series would like to thank Mud-X, Melmark Pipe and Supply, Rod End Supply, Oklahoma Pipe Sales, Doyle Int., Revolution Racing Engines, and Ken's Automotive for their continued support!
