NCRA Southern Sport Mods This Saturday in Beaver!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas – May 17, 2011 - It's back to action for the Bob Howard PDC/Mopar National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Smiley's Racing Products southern sport modified division this coming Saturday night as they embark on never before entered territory and Beaver County Raceway, atop the Beaver County Fairgrounds in Beaver, Oklahoma.

Defending division champion and current point leader Todd Decker of Edmond, Oklahoma leads the tour into the 81st different racing venue for the 42 year old National Championship Racing Association as he currently holds down a slim five point lead after three events that have been held thus far in 2011.

Making his first attempt at the $2000 winner's share of the 2011 NCRA southern sport modified championship, Travis Johnson of Enid and current Triple B Oil Field Services rookie of the year challenger Brandon Smith of Amarillo, Texas are tied for the runner up position in the point standings.

After a one year hiatus, 2009 and inaugural division champion Chad McNamara of Pond Creek, Oklahoma is back on the tour full-time as well and currently holds down the fourth spot in the points, just fifteen points out.

Three more Triple B Oil Field Services rookie of the year contenders hold down positions five through seventh in the standings. They include Kinzer Edwards (South Coffeyville, Oklahoma), Kelly Cross (Amarillo) and Devin Gerrior (Broken Arrow, Oklahoma).

Long-time modified veteran Frank Graven of Cushing (OK) holds down the eighth spot in the points with Greg Deterding (Pond Creek) and Ross McCartney (Lahoma, Oklahoma).

Other series regulars expected to compete include Landon Maddox, Jeff Autry and Donnie McConnell along with rookie contenders Zachary Tippett, J.D. Choate, Bobby McGehee, Tim Ford and Johnie Rauschenberg.

The nights feature finale will pay $500 to win with all drives starting the finale receiving $100. Their will also be a trophy dash with the winner receiving $100 and a trophy.

Also, any driver picking up the nights feature finale victory and was competing with Western Flyer Sport modified chassis and was purchased from Western Flyer, will receive an extra $1000, courtesy of Western Flyer sport mod chassis.

The Triple B Oil Field Services rookie of the year competition is also a tight points battle with Smith, who picked up his first career series victory in the season opener at 81 Speedway back in early April, tied with Edwards for the top spot with Cross just three points behind.

Gates open at 4:00 PM with racing scheduled for a 7:00 PM start time. Pit passes are $25, adult general admission $12, children 6-12 years of age $5 and ages five and under admitted free. For more race and ticket information, contact the track (970) 309-3867.
