Got crashed out when a spun car pulled into his path...qualifying was rained out. Cars were lined up according to practice speeds.

Hopefully Kevin will get another shot. Here's video of what happened to him.

Did Kevin not qualify for the Dover race?

Started 5th because qualifing was rained out. Ran mostly from 15th-20th and was finally settling in when he got taken out bye a complete idiot. Car was wrecked on the backstraight and pulled up and blocked the track as Kevin was coming bye trying to catch up to the field. None of his doing at all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRXtIM8Kx18

I think every dumb person in the country is now involved in either NASCAR or Washington. A 10 year old running a stock five horse Briggs powered go kart against his neighbor buddy's mini bike would interest me more than the gang of soul sellers called NASCAR. Kevin would be better off at Port Royal or even West Memphis every week.

I was watching this race strictly to see how Kevin was doing. I thought he did an admirable job, considering all the rain that they got. The track was very green for most of the race. He held on and was getting comfortable, you could tell. I've been watching racing a long time and I've never seen anybody get taken out the way he did. Just an absolute debacle. I felt bad for the kid in the 23 car that made the mistake too. Only 19. You could tell he was devastated, on the verge of tears when ESPN interviewed him. Too bad for Kevin though. Hope he gets another shot.

Kevin won`t make the money running port royal or west memphis like he did finishing 31 in nascar! But racing like that may also not get him any top rides either!

What is it with all you jackasses getting down on anyone who tries to make it big in racing? I try to advance myself every day in my profession. Sprint cars and midgets will always be there for him should he not make it, but he is at the age to find out if he can make it big in racing and better himself financially. I absolutely hate Formula 1 racing. Hate it. I think it is less exciting than watching nascar under caution. There is actually a better chance of seeing action in nascar under caution than in a formula 1 race, just my opinion. But, i would never call anyone an idiot if they were given a chance to run formula 1. It will pay the bills in a hurry. Not on the same scope as F1, but Kevin has the opportunity to make money he hasn't seen before and open the door for even bigger possibilities if things go his way in the long run. So get off his and anyone else's back who tries to make it big. Do like I do with F1, DON'T WATCH IT IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT!!!!!

I hope Kevin Swindell makes it big in Nascar and think he has an excellent chance. Who wouldn't want to: the quarter-million dollar motor homes, the private jets, the really big house, the "whatever you want". I'm betting he has a very good career in Nascar as will Ricky Steinhouse Jr.

As far as this past weekend's crash: young Mr. Kennedy has made the bonehead move of 2011. Will be tough for someone to top that. "my tires wouldn't turn", as anyone watching could see was incorrect as they were showing the video as he spoke. A tough lesson for a young racer. Swindell might have had a top ten finish.

Lawlessness and liberalism equals Hell. NY City,
Detroit, Seattle, Chicago, Minnepolis, etc. We saw it.
Burning hundreds of buildings, a thousand assaults and
dozens of murders. Getting worser and worser.

Kevin qualified 5th for the race, yes qualified via his practice speed not some provisional. I hope Jack gives him another chance as he was starting to figure it out and all of us know he has ridiculous talent. I wonder if while Kevin was sitting next to Ricky during the rain delay he was thinking, "damn, if he wouldn't have taken me out at the Chilibowl three years ago I might have had three in a row already"?

We are fortunate that there are guys that can make a pretty good living racing sprint cars. The unfortunate part of it is that guys like Kevin and Ricky know they can do better, and I can't blame them for that. Everyone wonders why Blaney hasn't come back to sprints? Well now you know. And Blaney's not even a star in NASCAR. I think Ricky will be and I think Kevin has that potential too.

Call me a jackass but Jason Meyers accomplished something real last year. Dave Blaney and his buddies made a lot of money. A bunch of ambulance-chasing attorneys made a lot of money last year too.

I think there are a lot more DUMB PEOPLE on forums with the same old "my racing is better than your racing" crap. Just for the sake of bitching they will complain about the color of the hot dog wrappers at their local track when they can't find anything else to their disliking!

What ever happened to the good race fans who enjoyed their corner of the sport and appreciated that others might prefer another type of motorsports?

I see numerous forms of motorsports throughout the year including dirt, asphalt, drag and road courses, and even cruises and car shows. I enjoy every one of them. From my perspective, there are good and not so good things about each of them.

If I were to focus on the not so good things, I might as well stay home. Instead it makes more sense to enjoy all of the good points of an event.

And the internet has now created people so intelligent that they know when a racer would be better off racing at Port Royal or West Memphis!!!!!! Simply unbelieveable!!!!

So someone dead last every week in NASCAR is better off than Chad Layton becasue their paycheck is bigger? When we say someone is better because their paycheck is better we have major problems. Very few have enjoyed a bigger variety of motorsport events than I have...go cart races, pro drag races, nostaligia drag races, bracket drag races, dirt midget races, pavement midget races, dirt champ car races, indy car races, micro sprint races, hundreds of car shows, monster truck races, sports car races, remote control car races, snowmobile races, snowmobile shows, truck shows, dirt late model races, ooddles of NASCAR races in the 80's, dirt modifieds races, full size 4 cyl sprint races, 305 sprint races, 312 sprint car races, 358 sprint races, 360 sprint races, 410 sprint car races, motorcycle races, nostalgic oval track exhibitions and I thank God for His unending blessings to allow such fun...But the current situtation in NASCAR is plain lunacy.

So, you are saying it's better to be playing in the minor leagues batting .300 and earning $85,000/year rather than to be a part time player in the majors hitting .235 and earning $850,000?

So, you are saying it's better to be racing a pure stock and winning 3 out of 4 weeks for a $500 purse rather than to be racing a 410 sprint and winning 1 or 2 times a year for a $2000 purse?

Huh? REALLY??? You can't be serious!!!

Maybe it's just me, but that looks like pretty twisted logic!!!
(and I don't know of anyone who is dead last every week)

I hate how Blaney's name always gets drug into a NASCAR conversation. Blaney was already at the pinnacle of sprint car racing when he won a WoO championhip. When the boys down south came knocking, only a moronic person would not answer that door. So he took the opportunity and started his NASCAR career. Is he the most sucessful driver of all time? Absolutely not. But he's not the most unaccomplished driver either. Stats include (between Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series'): 1 win, 15 top 5's, 58 top 10's, 9 career poles and over 32 million dollars in career winnings. 32 million. His car has earned over a million dollars already this year alone.

It's one thing to criticize someone, it's another to ignore facts. In reality, these guys that are start and park drivers will probably make more money this year than Schatz, or Kinser, or Saldana, or Meyers or whoever you want to throw out there. Is it right? No. But it is what it is. If these kids get the opportunity to go down south they should take it. There are far worse things that having a career like Dave Blaney's. We should all be so lucky.
