I think these drivers standing on the wing looks bush league. Did they not get enough love

from their parents growing up, so nows their chance to have everyone " look at me." What

happened to being a gracious winner. Can't picture Ferkel, Wolfgang, Doty, Haud or Hewitt

ever doing this.

Robby Wolfgang ( Doug's son ) did it when he won a 410 race at Huset's last year.... does that mean Doug didn't show him enough love growing up?

Just a ? but was that his first sprint car win? If so I think it is understandable that a guy would be a little excited after his first win.

After a guy gets win #1 then the next time he visits victory lane he can "act like he's been there before".

Man you got to be kidding me. You have nothing else to do in your life than to think of some lame a$$ subject to post , jeez.

But i'll answer your question some what. I'm assuming you are refering to the winner of last nights ASCS Gulf South race . The kid beat the odds last night . Beating some of the best sprint car drivers in the nation, and arguably one of the best sprint drivers in the world. The kid drove his heart out last night. Race winners celebrate all throughout all levels of racing and it will never stop.

It was his first 410 win yes, but still, who cares if a guy does the wing dance....it's part of the sport! That's like saying Tom Brady should keep a straight face and show no emotion every time he wins a superbowl. Come on Tom, act like you've been there before! wink

look at jeff swindell when he wins he always goes on top of the wing and celebrates and waves the checkered flag. I think drivers can celebrate how they want to even climb the top wing of their car.

They're just trying to make a show for the fans IMHO.

I like the Vince Lombardi line about "act like you've done it before".

Personally I don't get that worked up about victory lane theatrics. I expect emotion to come out in someway, somehow. I like it when the speeches are far from politically correct for sure, though! Tell it like it is... not how your sponsor or prospective sponsors would want to hear it. Wish I could have heard some of the Bob Weikert speeches in victory lane.

If standing on a wing bugs some folks... I can't imagine what horror they must feel when some people do a backflip in victory lane. THAT bugs me. Pure stupidity IMHO. They're expressing themselves and trying to make a show for the fans.. so be it. I won't lose any sleep over it.

I guess I'm becoming old school... can't see AJ Foyt or Steve Kinser or the like doing all the theatrics in victory lane. They put the show on ON THE TRACK. That's what we pay for... not the stupid theatrics.

What a moron you are. I believe sammy did a wing dance after winning williams grove last year and he is about as old schhol as it comes. If you had any brains, you would realize that winning a sprint car race at any level at any time is a huge accomplishment and drivers should celebrate, you never know if that will be your last. As a fan, somebody who just gets out of th car like its no big deal and gives a lame ass typical interview bores the shit out of me, whats wrong with a little excitment for a major accomplishment?

When standing across from Victory Lane, I ALWAYS look for some excitement from a driver and I don't care if it's their 1st win or number 100. That does not mean a driver needs to climb up on the wing and wave the checkers (although that's OK too) but I see too many times where they actually look bored.

Hey, it's a photo-op that can be used as a promo for current sponsors and in brochures for future sponsors. The winner should look excited about a win, any win, every win. Wins are not that easy to come by.

Publications and web sites will choose an image where there is some emotion shown everytime. It could be the difference in how, where and how large the image is published.

There are drivers who will not even smile in VL and that's OK too. But I know some excitement works a lot better.
