CRA SPRINTS HEAD FOR MANZANITA SPEEDWAY SATURDAY; TONY JONES 2ND TO REPEAT WITH WIN AT THE PAS
Tony Jones of Norco, Calif. joined Scotty Weir as repeat Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint Car feature winners in 2007, winning Saturday night’s 30-lapper at Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway.
Jones leads the series to Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix, Ariz. this Saturday, 83 points ahead of Mike Spencer after beating Spencer to the checkered flag at Perris.
Jones led all 30 laps at The PAS in his La Villa Restaurant/Ferreira Dairy DRC/J & D. Trailing Spencer, who finished in the runnerup spot, were Danny Sheridan, Rip Williams and Cory Kruseman.
Jones has finished second and fourth in this year’s two previous races at the 1/2-mile dirt Phoenix, oval. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. won there in February and Charles Davis, Jr. won there in March.
