Kids this is one of best events you could attend. This time along with several other Racing greats Benny "Wahoo" Taylor is expected to come. Should be a great time, and the food is second to none.
Come feed your face, meet and greet the legends of Oklahoma dirt car racing.
Holley's BBQ is located at N.W. 39th & Portland Ave. in OKC.
If you need further directions contact me at [email protected]
Thanks, Allen Crawford

After looking long and hard I finally found this photo from Fairgrounds Speedway (SFS)

If you look close you can see what great trim carpenters me and Ric where at age 11 and 13, but the coolest thing is the American Flag, and Jack Miller. Not to mention getting our picture taken on the stage at Fairgrounds Speedway with Benny "Wahoo"" Taylor.
It don't get no better than that.

and you get to meet the famous Uncle A as well lol.
It is a great event. Alot of stories being told. Hear 50 years of racing in the state in one night. I have been to all of them so far and they just keep getting bigger and bigger each time.

No bull$#!^, The aura in the place , the stories I get to hear, "Top Notch" stuff. Even my non-racing wife enjoyed it! Yeah, she actually did!

When I was building my car I want to bring out this year, this is the picture I used as a guide. I wanted my lines to match this car, and a car that Stephen Foster drove.
To me, this is the perfect look for an Edmunds bodied supermodified.

Brian,
I love the coupes. Clinton Herring had a wing set up just like this one in 1966 when he had Merle Bettenhausen driving his car in Lawton. One night one of the wing struts either broke or got loose and the wing went to flopping during the feature. It never came off but it destroyed the wing. The car that Clinton had was the car that Wayne Cox sold him after the 1965 season which Wayne finished 2nd in points to Evard Humphrey that season.

This event has gotten mentioned in the May 14 sports section of the Daily Oklahoman. Although, it was a very tiny piece as it was more of a announcement of the event.

Any publicity is good publicity! Our paper will give you details of HS Badmington events but will not publish Racing events.

This is the announcement from the paper.
RACERS NIGHT AT HOLLEY’S Current and retired race car drivers are invited to Racers Night at 6 p.m. Monday at Holley’s Barbecue, 4100 N. Portland. Many drivers who used to race at the now-demolished State Fair Speedway have attended previous events, including Shane Carson, Jerry Stone and Stan Constant. Active drivers who compete at other tracks attend the gathering to trade stories. For more information, call (405) 943-5551.
