In a effort to continue grass roots Sprint Car Racing in So. Calif. for all 410's & 360's, over 22 cars have Pre-Entered for this Sat. Night Sprint Car Open at "VRP". (not counting cars that decide to show up day of event) This is Open to all Sprint Cars, with a $200 Dollar Bonus being Paid to the top placing 360. Total Purse pay-out is listed on our Website at www.victorvilleracewaypark.com. This Race will count as 1 Race towards the season ending "Fall Nationals" Sprint Car Open that will pay $4,000 to win. Date TBD in either Oct. or Nov. "Starting this Sat. Night "VRP" will offer a Special $10 Dollar, Spectator VIP/PIT PASS/Meal Deal where any Spectators (of age) can purchase a Special Pit Pass that will allow them into the Pit Area to meet and interact with their favorite Drivers (Much like what NHRA does) This Special VIP Pit Pass for the $10.00 will also include entry into the Pit area and a Hot Dog, Chips and a Drink. Our goal is to let the Fans see these hard working crews in action, and to build a Fan Base for the up-coming stars of Sprint Car Racing. Sprint Car teams will be allowed to sell any Merchandise that they have to create additional income with NO percentage to the Track. Driver Entry and each crew member entry is only $25 Bucks, and No membership is required. Spectator admission is only $12 bucks to anyone that mentions this web site at the box office....Pit Gates open at 1:00 PM.....Spectator Gates open at 4:30 PM....Racing Actions starts at 6:00 PM.........As the ad says..."VRP" the Place to Race

$10 for the fans to go into the pits but $12 to go into the stands?
Fans, who pay full price, roaming the pits throughout the night will be a disaster waiting to happen. Making it cheaper to go into the pits than the stands, you just doubled the number of people in your already crowded pit area and increased your risk of a serious injury times 20.
Why don't you make this a pre-race deal, when no cars and quads should be moving around and drivers can sign autographs and sell shirts. Open pits are just a bad, bad, bad idea.

Derp...great question....Let me clarify....Spectators have to pay regular admission into the grandstands first, then if they want to go into the pits they have to purchase the Pit Pass for $10 and there is a special entrance cross over completely separate from where Racers enter. We are going to limit the time from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM.....Then when Races start, clear the Spectators to the Stands....Then allow Pit Pass people back into the pits after the Races......Also we are in the process of expanding the Pit Area at "VRP". My roots come from Drag Racing, and there is nothing more exciting than watching crew guys in action and maybe talking with the Driver.....Then of course the smell of Alcohol just hooks you!!!! BUT I totally agree Safety first!!!!!!!

"Then allow Pit Pass people back into the pits after the Races".
I'm guessing you meant to add this, or something like it... (along with anyone from the stands who would like to come down as well.)
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

Commendable, Steve. Far more on the ball than any of these people who have given you static for your first forays.

Mr. Promoter,,,when does this race start...normally wheel packing and hot laps happen 4:30 to 6..that can't happen with spectators wandering around the pits

Pit gates for Racers open at 1PM..Racing at 6:00 PM...You are correct about wheel packing times. It can be done in a safe way as long as you have certain area's for Spectators. I have done several events in Drag Racing where we have had 200 + cars. We have never had a incident as long as you think safety first,....And honestly, when the Races are happening, fans will be in the stands anyhow. We just want to be able to get fans more interested in Racing, but done in a safe way. One of the biggest selling points for NHRA is they allow fans in the pits, and they have 500 door slammers driving around. The other thing is that it's not like we draw 10,000 people, so honestly if we have 100 fans take up this offer we will be lucky, but least they have that option. Thanks

Austin Williams wins again.
Cody Williams DNF'ed.
Logan Williams in the #3 car had a clean night of racing.
Maverick Gaunt parked his brand new Sled race car on the wall.
Chase Gaunt parked his brand new Sled race car against the wall.
Both Maverick and Chase were going faster and faster as the night wore on.
I didn't catch his name, but the guy in the #26 car took a hell of a ride during his heat race.
That fire truck with the jet engine really did a job on a old motor home. I'm sure the AQMD would've had a fit about all of the smoke.

Probably only 17 cars actually showed up. Your neighbor, Mr. Everhart was a no show.
The crowd was good. Fairly large contingent from Bakersfield.
Even though they did the motor home burn down in the center of the track, we could feel the heat from about half way up the stands.

Why are you singling out Tony for not showing up ?? There was supposed to be 22 cars that showed up. Now you say that there was only 17 so who were the others ? Since its such a big importance that you had to single Tony out for not showing up I will be glad to call him in the morning to find out why he did not show up just so everyone on here knows why he was not there.
