Great idea! I hope you are able to reap the rewards to where this is profitable all the way around! And Kudos for paying cash each night, too.

A couple of questions on the show Saturday.
On April 3rd you posted that general admission was $12. A call to office told me it was $15. Which is it?
On April 5th you stated it was $1000 to win, $100 to start. You didnt mention that that purse was for a minimum of 20 entries, as stated on your web site.

Car count-based purses never work...that ain't good! Make a purse and pay it, whether 10 cars or 50 show up. The ones that are there don't drive proportionately slower if there's less cars show up, so why pay them less? You don't give them a percentage of their pit pass back at the pay window if you have a short field and pay less out, do you? Every finishing position still takes the same effort and expenses to race regardless of how many cars that do or don't finish behind them. Nonetheless, I am optimistic the VRP can help right what seems to be a ship taking on lots of water right now, so best of luck!

In Red: Happy to answer any Race related questions. A couple of questions on the show Saturday.
On April 3rd you posted that general admission was $12. A call to office told me it was $15. Which is it? There are Special Discounts out there...If you mention at the Box Office you read it on this site, or saw the Special offers, it is $12.00 bucks...The regular Price will be $15.00 if they don't say anything about the Special Offers..We are trying to see what advertising is effective.............
On April 5th you stated it was $1000 to win, $100 to start. You didnt mention that that purse was for a minimum of 20 entries, as stated on your web site. For this Race Sat. Night, we are standing behind our word! $1,000 to Win, $100 to start......Weather it's 20 Cars, or 7 Cars.........This Race will determine if we have to go to a sliding scale Purse in the future like what is posted on the "VRP" Web site "Pay-Outs" All Pay-Outs are Cash at the event......

I'm thinking you're going to have a few team's the size of Jimmy Johnson's with that deal. Lets hope there's as many people in the stands, as there are in the pits.
I'm actually very surprised that there hasn't been more positive comments from you guy's over in Cali about this deal.

I agree, you should do no more then 3 or 4 crew members per car! See how it goes but I think that is enough per car!

I wasn't suggesting that Steve put a limit on the number of crew members. I'm sure there's going to be a few extra guy's in the pits, and for a variety of reasons; but as long as it's not over the top I think it will be a good deal all around. This open comp show is all about opening the door's with a goodwill gesture, and any unnecessary monitoring, for lack of a better word, could throw a damper on it.

Does 'Pay $25 Dollars for entry and all crew members for that team 'make a lot of sence.....so I'e' mail 100 names of crewmembers and all of us pay a total of $25 .......Pay25 cents per pit pass????

I didnt say that you suggested that. I said that! But if you dont put a limit on it. Half of the paying fans will be in the pits and that isnt going to be good for the track.
I would put a limit of 4 per car entered. That would be the car owner, Driver and two crew members. Anyone else that wants to get into the pits on the "Crew List" can pay the GA price. That is how I would do it! That is a fair system for everyone in my opinion!
I just feel that there would be a lot of Extra Crew members that would want to get in for a freebie show. If a team normally has more for the crew they can divide the costs and get in for $5 each or whatever it would work out to be.

The deal is the driver, or owner I presume, has to email the promoter with the list in order to get the discount. Random fans cannot email and get in for the 25 bucks and if some industrious driver took the opportunity to put 20 of his fans on the list, well I would say it's unfortunate someone is taking advantage of a new promoter who's reaching out to the sprint car community to help build the local show.
As to your driver/car owner/2 crew member, that's similar to what Ascot did, except I believe they got in for free. Although getting in free in this day is completely unreasonable, so the cheapest pit pass price going in the state should be good enough to get cars.

Correct me if I am wrong. The deadline for this special deal is Thursday the 14th. So get real friendly with favorite race photographer and get an image of your race car in action.
What Steve is doing in a manner of speaking is making you guys partners in promoting.

All I can say is I've seen enough shinanigans with all of the Promotional tickets that the PAS used to give out to get NEW spectators out to the track it would make me sick!
