Three USRA Weekly Racing Series divisions featured at Brill Motor Speedway in 2011

MEEKER, Okla. (Jan. 24) -- Drivers in three divisions will compete for honors in the USRA Weekly Racing Series during the 2011 season at the Brill Motor Speedway in Meeker, Okla.

Mark Brill will return as the promoter of the high-banked 3/8-mile clay oval for the sixth season in 2011 as the speedplant will sanction USRA RHS Modifieds, USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars and USRA Western Flyer Limited Mods with the United States Racing Association.

“The USRA has a great set of rules and we are working to get all of the tracks in Oklahoma on the same page,” Brill said. “The money is nice, but we’re sanctioning because we like the rules and the direction of the organization.”

Racing will move to Friday nights in 2011, and something new for the upcoming racing season will be live broadcasts of the racing action on FM radio. This means that spectators and those in the pit area will be able to hear the announcer on any FM receiver such as stereo headphones, a boombox or a car radio.

“We will continue to put all our efforts into improving the track to make it a safe and fun place to race,” Brill added.

Drivers in the USRA RHS Modified division will compete for a points fund worth $1,500 at season’s end to the track champion and a $10,000 top prize awaiting the division’s national champion in the USRA Weekly Racing Series.

The USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars race for a $600-to-win track championship and national points fund worth $1,500 to the winner. The class will compete under the current Pro/Street track rules for the 2011 season.

Competitors in the USRA Western Flyer Limited Mods will be chasing a $500 top prize for winning the track title and $2,000 for the top points earner nationally. The USRA Western Flyer Limited Mods will battle for national points in the same category with the USRA Karl Performance Parts B-Mods.

Defending Brill Motor Speedway track champions are Charles Day of Yukon (Modifieds), Steve Robinson of Chandler (Southern Limited Mods) and Johnny Reed Jr. of Oklahoma City (Stock Cars).

The Brill Motor Speedway is located 16 miles north of I-40 (exit 186) on SR 18. For more information, call the track office at 405-769-6927 or the track hotline at 918-866-2651 during racing season. The track’s website can be found at www.brillmotorspeedway.com.

The USRA was founded in 2002 with the sanctioning of Modifieds and Stock Cars at the Thunder Valley Speedway in Fayetteville, Ark. Hobby Stocks were added in 2003 and the organization grew steadily over the next three years with 14 tracks hosting USRA events in 2005. The B-Mod division arrived on the scene in 2006 and since then, USRA Weekly Racing Series national champions have been crowned in all four premier divisions.

I like the idea and for it, i just hope we can keep the Pro/Street Rules and keep the class going, since all drivers and owners have voted for the class to be what it is now, and Pro's are Mark's favorite class, i don't want to have to build another car to be legal for thier current Stock Car rules. Keep the Pro/Street Class and adapt those rules into the USRA is what i hope Smile good luck to all this season !!!

With Brill, Ada and Creek all having the same rules for the pro's that increased car count by leaps and bounds. Some of the best races at Brill's was the pro class.

Look under the B-Mod rules.

Well if you go by the b-mod rules the southern sport mod cars are no legal.

8.7 Two-link suspension only. Four-link suspension is not allowed.

11.2 Tires:

11.2.1 American Racer G60 or KK704 stamped or non-stamped tires are permitted. All non-stamped tires must be asphalt (no dirt).

Good luck with those rules. MEEKER had more sportmods than B-mods last year.If they are allowing the sport mod car the need to update the rules. Last year champion was a western flyer car. Which is not legal by the Bmod rules

Jeff Nunn, the PR guy for USRA, is trying to get registered here on tidbits and will answer your questions he informs me.

If you are IMCA southern sport mod legal, you will be USRA limited modified legal. The complete rules are being looked at thoroughly and will be officially released by the end of this week.

Everybody in Oklahoma is running limited modifed rules except Outlaw, Salina and Tri-State.

Hopefully this will clear up any confusion.

Mr. Nunn also informs me that Meeker and Ada will run the normal Pro/Street rules rules but will be sanctioned by USRA as stock cars.
