If you dont think these are some of the best sprint car videos you have ever seen on you tube then you are not a fan of winged sprint cars period. I am a producer of sprint car vids on youtube out west in norcal, thanks for postin these great sir! These were the days watching these change and get faster by the month! A growing breathing animal that the memories I take to every winged 410 show I go to! Whats up with the cowboy hats? Wrangler DEI fans!

Yea those hats need to stay with the '80s too! Tall crowns and peacock feathers!
I got a kick out of seeing Laverne Nance walking around there, and all the underage pitrats climbing the dirtmounds trying to get a better view.
I saw one part , somewhere in there, where Shane Carson was changing a tire on a competitors car so that guy could out before a restart.
Incidently, Shane was up there a ways, before an aluminum torsion stop broke. Not a happy camper after that, but he didn't stop helping others.

Wow... I saw myself on tv from 29 years ago! I was taking photos down in turn 3/4 close to were Haud launched out of the track. Here is a quick 4 photo sequence I took that afternoon.

I noticed that the gentleman in victory lane wearing the cowboy hat was more than likely Sammy's dad Sam Swindell. It was good to see Mr. Nance in there as well. I've always loved those Nance cars.

Thanks Brian!!!!
That was awesome.... I was at I-70 in '81 before the Nats... it was unbelievable!
First time I ever saw vapor trails off the wings....
On that trip ... went to Sedalia (?) MO to see a local show... and Rick Howard 7x,
in the nasty crash in first heat, won the main..... there was a young hot shoe at that race
named Danny Lasoski.... but his dad said he wasn't ready to go to Knoxville and run
the big track without a wing....
