Thanks Brian, and I hope you had a great Christmas, and have a wonderful new year.

Much thanks for the work you put in on these vids Brian! That sure looks like it was a spooky fast joint. It's a shame the producer chose not to show Kinser's run from the back after his flat. Did I hear an announcer make mention of helium in a wing or was that an audio hallucination?? HA!

Good stuff, Thanks again!

Thanks for putting up the vids. I haven't watched them yet but I will.

Was there a clear plastic wing in the field? I thought those were the ones they tried the helium in for a short time.

Thank you Brian, you made my day. I remember Jac Haudenchild in the Kenny Rogers car being the 'wild child' and gassing it, making a complete somersault over the turn four fence and landing on the tires! I remember Sammy Swindell in the Nance 1n, I could not believe a sprint car could go that fast on a dry slick track! I remember making the three hour trip from St. Louis to camp and party in the parking lot! Thanks Brian and Shane, you guys brought back alot of memories.

THank you so much for posting this. I was at this race at the age of 10. We never missed a chance to make the 4 hour drive to see sprint cars at I-70 on the dirt. Is there ANY way I could get a DVD or VHS copy of this from you? Name your price.

If u want copies of this just click watch on youtube in the bottom right. Copy the url and paste it at www.savevid.com select the format u want to save it in and right click save target as. Boom you own it. Works for any youtube video. Happy hunting

More weight, more regulation, more similarity in the
cars.... that will ensure plenty of thrills for years
to come. Only the most average talent behind the
wheel will be needed with such awesome equipment on
the track!

Great video! Thanks for posting it. I got a kick out of the winner in victory lane accepting his trophy. Go to the 5:42 mark of part 6. LOL. Nice.

Wow... I saw myself on tv from 29 years ago! I was taking photos down in turn 3/4 close to were Haud launched out of the track. Here is a quick 4 photo sequence I took that afternoon.

Thanks for the video not complaining a bit. BUT if this same race was run this year all we would hear was how sorry the track prep was how dusty it was and how bad the tires are. I'm just glad we still have some tracks to race at and better yet some tracks that stick there neck out in this economy to put on big races. Just glad to b here

We're all getting an education the way things were, I still love the old days better, but yes the tracks could get bad then too. There's an OkC video I'm bringing in that had a huge hole in turn 4. No one wanted it there-but on race day, it wouldn't go away.

Bad tires seems to be a matter of perspective. Rules, cost, politics, and trends direct the tire choices. Tire companies will only make and sell what people buy--in the long run. It's a business.

EVERYONE IS TO BLAME ON THE TIRE ISSUE. Really look at what's going on, really. we are all to blame on that one.

If Kinser took a twenty lap tire, and made it last 30 and win the feature-everybody would go to that tire, thus a trend was born. When those tires began popping, the complaints went to the tire maker.

I'm in the tire business--michelin.......................It happens to us too. That's one reason michelin doesn't have the balls to go where the other tire makers go--like an I-70 kinda place. Or Indy, Daytona, etc.

Many thanks. Some of the best day time stuff I have ever seen.

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

NICE STUFF! Thanks to Shane and Brian26 for sharing this.

I was there that day as well., however I don't recall ever seeing this broadcast, so yeah, I enjoyed it. Jenkins and Nuber were the best.

I do remember standing on one of those "humps" near turns 1&2 when Haud launched outta the place in the feature.

Many times I've told people that if you never saw I-70 with dirt, you've never seen banks.

FAST? Heck yeah! Scary? You bet!

Seems that back then, when tracks got slick, rough, hard, dry, whatever, there wasn't nearly the complaints we hear today, but we didn't all have the web then either.

Nowadays, everyone wants everything perfect.

You definately found out who had the "KAHOONIES"!

WAY COOL STUFF!!

Geat video but hearing Sammy say he changed tires to run 4 laps made me think the rule if you change a tire you go to the rear was a good rule.

Thanks for the videos but the sad part is that Nance, Gambler and for the most part Stanton are no longer in racing not to mention Firestone and Hoosier.

I sure miss those days.
