A couple of interesting things occurred during the running of Saturday night's feature at the Big E...I don't believe I have ever seen a hood peeled up over a roll cage by a clod of mud before, let alone two in one race. For the feature, the track was the heaviest, roughest track I have ever seen. Moreover, I don't believe I have ever seen a sprint car come completely off the ground (meaning all four wheels) because of a hole on a straightaway, but that is precisely what happens to Robert Ballou about a lap and a half from victory. Of course, he never lifted. And we dig that about him! Robert was a man amongst boys on Saturday night.
