Larry:
It's known by most ALL race teams that an adjusted purse was agreed on between OCRS and the promoters that booked at least 5 events for 2010. Your post shows your position that you do not agree with it and that's OK as everyone is entitled to their opinion. Your opinion is respected by OCRS as are all others.
That said, your post also comes off as quite negative and I don't see how that helps anything. OKC is gone, Tulsa Speedway has been gone for awhile and other tracks are trying to keep afloat thus they have champ sprint purses that are still lower than the OCRS adjusted purse that two promoters get for 2010. Im going to take it that you really dont like those other purses either since they are lower.
In the challenging times we find ourselves in, both social economically and racing economics, I just fail to see where such negative posts are necessary. Imagine what the track promoters think of such a post. They dont need this kind of chatter. We respect your right to not attend but I wish to bare out this 'fact'..........................
OCRS pays MORE to start the A-main than any area track running champ sprints regardless of what the total purse is at any OCRS event. This fact not only holds true for regular purses at other tracks but also"specials" some of those tracks run. In 2009, OCRS had 100 drivers compete in at least 1 event. With 2 dates still to run, OCRS has 92 such drivers. With these kind of numbers, we must be doing something right.
The "adjusted purse" program will be evaluated at season's end (which was the plan all along) and a determination will be made for its future in 2011.
Your a quality racer with good racing skills Larry. You are always welcome to join us when you desire. We hope to have you compete with us again sometime.
Sincerely,
John Lemon
