Besides a piece of crap....
First the monorail, take it out.
The aircraft and a couple of buildings, bye bye.
Our speedway and the grandstands, 'nuff said.
And now they are talking that the space needle is not workable and its history is pending.
Shame on you and to hell with you powers to be State Fairgrounds leaders.

Some one might look into this. Is the ground contaminated ? Ascot Park in Gardenia Ca. closed in 1990 every one knows about Ascot. Th land has not been developed because toxic chemicals have been found in the soil. Found this info on the internet check it out . It might be possible to rain on the mayor's parade. good luck

Unfortunately, the state fair has turned into a gathering that I will skip given the rough nature of the clientele (present company excluded, of course). Too many news reports of violent behavior. Otherwise, David, to answer your question, the fairgrounds are being converted into a playground for the upperscale in the state/community with an interest in the horse industry. The thing I still ponder is why was the race track, a place that many in the state/community enjoyed and patronized, destroyed with no plan for an alternate site? Even in Oklahoma, we don't treat everyone the same. And when that goes away in Oklahoma, it's pretty much gone from everywhere.

the clientele is getting rough. i went a couple years back and was picking my nose and some guy thought i flashed a gang sign.....seriously it is sad to see what happened in OKC. when Tulsa Speedway left the fairgrounds it was tough to go back out there. the first time i went to the fair they tried to make me park on the 5/8ths track and i couldnt do it...turned around and left.

Any of you all willing to make some phone calls to the EPA?
